Based on the price of the 1080Ti, and the fact that it "may" go down a little further makes any decision somewhat difficult at the moment. Considering that the 1080 cost as much on release as the 1080Ti now does make for a very tempting buy. I'll be keeping a very close eye on the release prices for the 1180 before committing to a purchase - considering the fact that I can run both the 1080Ti and my 980 together on my system.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. :w00t:

The automatic skin weight transfer and skin weight editing for clothing OBJ's requires Character Creator 3 Pipeline. These features are not in Character Creator 3 for iClone. 

You can however convert OBJ to Accessories with Character Creator 3 for iClone.

I'm using a standard GTX 1080 (not Ti) and the Iray render results are super fast compared to the renders from Daz Studio (using the same Daz Genesis character). ;)

Thank you, and I've already looked over the comparison chart. I was asking about their NEXT video, i.e. WiP 2. I'm still wondering if the next video will feature mostly standalone version items, or not? Will people have to have the comparison chart, and video in two different windows to check which features being shown in the video will be in the non-standalone version, or not? What if someone doesn't know about the chart? If they only get the plug-in version, then they'll be left wondering why they can't find the features from the video.

the one thing I want to know ATM is can the non-pipeline CC3 still import obj files and convert them to clothing as seen in the first video?

RL - I will ask this version of the Essentials package Question:

RL, pose it to your own team-
If a member of the RL team already has the 'Essentials' Clothing/Skin Package for CC2, would they YES or NO be buying it again for CC3.
(ie YES - because it has new features for CC3 that the CC2 package did not have, kind of like buying new gear for Genesis 8 that is not compatible with Genesis 3/2.)
(ie NO- because it is the exact same package you already have for CC2, so if you already have it, you don't then need to buy it again.)

(Because I think, in a way what everyone is hoping for actually, is to learn it is a New 'Super' CC3 Essentials version, with new 4K high res skins and clothing, you know?)

I got lucky as well -- when I got the Titan I was going to sell my 1080 on eBay but kept putting it off.

Now my new machine (which supports two GPUs) can take that card as well, so I'll have both to render iRay (however -- if the speed still sucks for animation I'll end up selling the 1080 anyway :>).

With this IRAY plugin it looks like time to get a new GPU to replace my GTX 980, and with Nvidia due to announce the GTX 1180 at Gamescon on August 20th it would appear that my waiting is going to be paid off - even though the 1080Ti is available here at the moment for about €850.00 (including 19% Sales Tax). :)
