Indeed there will be two full versions of Character Creator 3. One will be the free upgrade version for iClone 7 users, and the other will be the full featured standalone version called Character Creator 3 Pipeline. Please see the page below for the comparison chart which shows which features are supported in each version.

Huh.. Will you be showing which features will be in the standalone version versus the plug-in version in future videos for it, and in upcoming products?
That way, people's expectations can be more realistic, and not feel a tad misguided.

Here's the comparison chart

Gerry

System: Win 10 Pro (21H2), Asus X99-E WS, CPU i7-5930K -3,5 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 2666-16 RAM, NVidia GTX 1080 Ti GPU - 11 GB VRAM(Driver Studio-536.99), Samsung 850 Pro 512 GB SSD, 6 TB HD storage.

What I would like to know is DOES ANYBODY KNOW! lol It seems nobody at RL knows enough to answer our questions at least not all of them. Wait for the wip ;) the problem with that is there are 3 of them and #2 has not even been released? CC3 is supposed to be released in September RL (you know that is next month right) so which will come 1st wip3 or the launch :hehe: Get your (there is no poop emoji) together and be honest about it lol
PS: Marketing you are making the entire company look bad dot the eye's and cross the T's check the spelling then launch a finished product! If your current team is't competent enough to do this replace them (your uncle is not getting getting the job done)

@ Mike I wish you weren't always right but again you are!

Home built liquid cooled AMD Ryzen 7 1800X cpu (8 core 16 thread) 4.0GHz,  rtx 3090, ASUS Crosshair VI Hero motherboard, 64 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD (Samsung 850 EVO) 6 TB HD's 4K monitor.

Thanks,

Tried it and it worked, so I bought the full package at that time.
So no need to buy it again :)

No problem... But it seems to me you still have to buy it if you need special functions in your CC3 pipeline unique to Essentials pack (let cloth aside). Again (unless someone from RL would confirm otherwise) as I understand it, the base CC3 pipeline would not have Essential Morphs pack (for instance), which only comes with Essentials Pack! CC3 Stand alone has no association with CC2 and does not upgrade it. This is very confusing as it is.

Yes, it would be nice to know if it's compatible / or the same.
I have the Pipeline in my Basket for now along with the Iray plugin..    (I'm assuming that the Iray plugin also works for Iclone etc..  from what I am reading is in Iclone 7.3)

why is GoZ not in CC3 and only in CC3 pipeline any way?

CC3 for iClone is free, so that's probably the reason. Developers need to be paid somehow...:P

I like to see WIP 2, but I will most likely go with the pipeline offer. It seems that I buy pipeline versions usually. My main disappointment is that no face creation from photos is included. I'm also not clear whether faces created in CT8 are compatible. I know there are other ways but I just like to use an image as a basis.

I'll go with the $179 one..  I got the Essentials already.. only thing I don't know it it's an export version..
How can I tell?

You can tell by having a base model to wear an essential item of clothing and then try to export to FBX a clothed character from the CC File menu. You will get a warning if the item is not an export version.

So many unanswered questions, I'll have another one. Does CC3 comes with 4K body substance? Or it is just supported without any 4k skin textures. Is there anything new in Essential Pack?
That brings us to Denise's question. Do we have to buy it again? Since CC3 pipeline is a stand alone app, then I suppose previously purchased Essential Pack would not be transparent to CC3 stand alone. And no special functionality be available in the base pipeline ($129). Now, with "Essential" and "Studio" pack we are buying Essentials Export version for +$100 (list price $300). Not bad, except that some people might not need an export version, but would only  appreciate special functions such as an essential morphs pack...etc. Oh well...
