Is this something I could have a use for?
I don't think so.
For me I enjoy making Zootopia characters and I don't think it can help me as it seems to be only for humans.
Also when I do humans they are closer to appear as anime characters and I don't think that is possible to do either.
That is why I only played once with CC when it first came out.

With CC3 you are not limited to just human characters. Character Creator is of course designed around biped figures, but they don't have to be human. Almost any two legged animal and certainly anime type characters are possible in Character Creator 3. We will have more information about this soon.

Hi kenshinw95,

Character Creator 3 Pipeline is the only version for sell, adding the words "Pipeline Edition only" on CC3 videos or webpage may not be appropriate.
If the comparison table is not clear enough, please let us know. Thanks!

Miranda

Huh.. Will you be showing which features will be in the standalone version versus the plug-in version in future videos for it, and in upcoming products?
That way, people's expectations can be more realistic, and not feel a tad misguided.

Here's the comparison chart

Thank you, and I've already looked over the comparison chart. I was asking about their NEXT video, i.e. WiP 2. I'm still wondering if the next video will feature mostly standalone version items, or not? Will people have to have the comparison chart, and video in two different windows to check which features being shown in the video will be in the non-standalone version, or not? What if someone doesn't know about the chart? If they only get the plug-in version, then they'll be left wondering why they can't find the features from the video.

well now.. if I'm understanding this correctly, CC3 is going to be a stand alone. so perhaps it would be in my best interest to get the pipeline version.
although i do wonder, if this will eliminate the water mark issue i continue to experience. with exception of a couple of CC characters, every time I send the character
from iclone to CC, i get watermarks. the same is vice versa. in order for me to actually work with it, i have to be connected to the internet to not have watermarks.
this of course, becomes a HUGE pain in the backside. and in my expert opinion, should not be. the internet in my area frequently goes down, leaving me is a "screwed" position until
it goes back up. which is quite often.. and is down for days..  and so my question would be.. will this end all that?   will getting the pipeline solve this frustrating issue?

vidius.

Character Creator 3 Pipeline is a standalone product but the content you purchase and use with it will still contain the same DRM and will need an internet connection to verify the content. However for most content packs you should be able to use it offline once it has been verified after install. Only some shared content requires an active internet connection to use, but even then you can normally work around that by linking it to a particular serial number.

So to clarify, the current requirements regarding content verification will remain with Character Creator 3 Pipeline.

Well at least you say the CC Essentials will be compatible with CC3.
This still does not address the fact that I have already paid out once for GoZ only for RL to then not included it although I had paid for it.
So it I have to purchase CC3 pipeline to get it that means that I have been charged twice for GoZ.
Not a very good way for a company to treat it's customers.
I hope this is going investigated and reflected in the price that I would be charged if I decide to purchase pipeline.
I am sure there are others that this would affect also having previously been told that GoZ was a plugin and included in the price they paid only then to be told no now not available.

Hi Duchess,

I do understand the frustration but GoZ was only listed as planned feature in our future roadmap for iClone/3DXchange. It wasn't like with CC3 where we have produced WIP videos showing the new features in action and have a feature comparison chart confirming exactly what is coming. In the old roadmap we mentioned a lot of features we wanted to add in the coming months but for technical reasons it wasn't feasible at that time. The proposed features may have even required additional purchase such as in the form of a plug-in but we never got to that to that advanced stage of development with GoZ.

Unfortunately that is the dilemma we face when revealing our future plans because plans can and often do change. That said we do apologise for the disappointment the original cancellation caused.

so would I be able to convert an obj pair of pants  and have it set to the legs and hip as expected?
or is skin weight editing needed for that?

Accessories are things like purses, hats and glasses -- things which do not deform (and thus don't need to be weighted in any way).  If you want CC to weight things for you, you will need the Pipeline version.

yeah I thought as much but I wanted comformation
thanks

the one thing I want to know ATM is can the non-pipeline CC3 still import obj files and convert them to clothing as seen in the first video?
(fallow up)
how long  will the  Early Bird last? I would like to know if obj imparts work before that sale ends.

The automatic skin weight transfer and skin weight editing for clothing OBJ's requires Character Creator 3 Pipeline. These features are not in Character Creator 3 for iClone.

You can however convert OBJ to Accessories with Character Creator 3 for iClone.

so would I be able to convert an obj pair of pants  and have it set to the legs and hip as expected?
or is skin weight editing needed for that?
