What hardware is CC3 compatible to? I understand iray does not support AMD graphic card for rendering. Is there anything else it does not support? Does it support AMD CPU with Nvidia GFX cards?

True, but potentially misleading.

If you don't have an Nvidia card, Iray will run on the CPU.  Fully functional, just slower.

AMD CPUs and Nvidia GPUs should play nicely together.

Beyond my Iray comment, I assume the CC3 system requirements will be similar to CC2 and  iClone 7.x, but you ought to be able to survive with a lower-end card since you won't be rendering hundreds of animation frames containing multiple assets.

At the risk of contradicting my previous paragraph, there are some "Substance" materials in CC2 that are very powerful, but they are huge and beastly substances, so even though you're only working on a single character, it could be a bit sluggish to work with on a low-power card.

iClone 7... Character Creator... Substance Designer/Painter... Blender... Audacity...
Desktop (homebuilt) - Windows 10, Ryzen 9 3900x CPU, GTX 1080 GPU (8GB), 32GB RAM, Asus X570 Pro motherboard, 2TB SSD, terabytes of disk space, dual  monitors.
Laptop - Windows 10, MSI GS63VR STEALTH-252, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 (6GB), 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD

Hi everyone,

We collected your questions and organized them into several topics, please find our feedback below.
  • Iray Plugin
  • Head Creation
  • Hair Pack & Hair System
  • Children Morph, Pixar-Styled Morph
  • Others: GoZ, OBJ in, Skin Weight Transfer, Physics Weighting, Bone Editing Tool

Iray Plugin
  1. We will continuously improve iClone real-time render, and keep to support more renderers, so users have more choices to different needs. We chose to integrate Iray first because NVIDIA standard greatly utilizes multi-GPU render and AI. Furthermore, Iray supports MDL standard material format, which is adopted by Substance, and could be easily extend to V-Ray.
  2. Since Reallusion Iray Plugin is fully inherited with NVIDIA Iray, the rendering speed is same as NVIDIA Iray. We will do more tests and provide users a reference report when official launch.
  3. We are working on the solution to allow users to keep editing in iClone while rendering. Not sure if it will be another render license, please wait for further info.

Head Creation

In the first version of CC3, CC3 characters are not compatible with RLHeads from CrazyTalk 8, however, users can apply RLHeads on CC1 base in CC3 first, and then click a button to convert CC1 base to CC3 base. The conversion result of this workaround is good. We will make CC3 characters compatible with RLHeads in later version.
Hair Pack & Hair System

We will take hair system into consideration seriously in the future. Before that, there is no doubt that Reallusion and Developers will keep offering various hair content with high quality.

Children Morph, Pixar-Styled Morph
  1. Besides morph, we will plan to have motion, pose and outfits for children.
  2. Pixar-Styled Morph is under development.

Others: GoZ, OBJ in, Skin Weight Transfer, Physics Weighting, Bone Editing Tool
  1. GoZ: ZBrushCore doesn't support GoZ function.
*Some users mentioned about bridge function to Substance Painter and 3DCoat. We will study it, and consider to implement in later version.
  2. OBJ in: we don't support importing OBJ as high heels in the first version. Please follow the current CC1.5 pipeline to create high heels.
  3. Skin Weight Transfer: CC3 will align character with imported cloth mesh, which means skin weight can be transferred to characters with different poses. In WIP1's video, the original denim jacket is T-pose, so our character is set to T-pose for better manually tweak afterward.
  4. Physics Weighting: We consider make it in iClone first, which is an easier way to test animated result. Terrain paint / push / pull will also be considered.
  5. Bone Editing Tool: it's supported in CC3. We will find time to demonstrate this function.

Let's say, besides CC3's build-in functions, CC3 makes the content creation pipeline much easier.
When CC3 launched, there will be a male character, and a female one embedded. The quality of base characters are similar to the female character we demonstrated in WIP 1, and you can do the further editing in CC3, or export to 3rd party tool to sculpt or paint to be more realistic.

*4K texture export is supported.

since the pipeline and the iclone versions are "2 different versions" the question is if i buy the pipeline version first them later decide to buy the iclone, this means which i will ending with 2 different CCs?

No, there will be only one CC program. All the files created by CC3 for IC will be fully compatible in CC3 Pipeline.

And if i use the pipeline version and export it to iclone that "features which are exclusive for the "pipeline version" will work with the iclone like the autoskin and the lod, they will be carried to the iclone and to another program like a game engine like unreal, or that features only goes direct to others programs and ca't be carried to the iclone??

Yes, it works in iClone of course!  CC character is always the Standard Character to iClone, and 100% compatible with its facial and body animation system. The only thing to be aware is, once the CC character has been polygon remeshed, it will be seen as Non-Standard Character, and not be able to import back to CC3. We will bring more details about polygon remeshing feature in WIP 2.

another good question could be like if i buy first the iclone and use the cc version for iclone and later i decide to buy the pipeline i can open my workers which i started in the "iclone version" in the pipeline?? they have that compatibility??

All the files created by CC3 for IC will be fully compatible in CC3 Pipeline.

And my last question that is about a feature which i saw in the video, we gonna be able to make "animations or poses" in the pipeline cc3??? cuz in the video we can see a tab "pose/animation" it means which we gonna be able to make animations or poses direct in the cc3 without need the iclone?? or it is just to have a premade pose or be able to buy pre made ones from the market, how that tab work??.

It's pose, not animation. You can adjust & save pose in CC3, or import iMotion, iMotionPlus, rlMotion from iClone to present pose.

Hello!
It indicates a huge problem, from 06.30 to 06.52.
The reasons for this problem: from 07.23 to 08.54.
And the ways of its solution, from 08.55 to 09.33.
It is necessary to automate the solution of this problem. Can apply a special texture, for visual inspection. Vertical lines should remain vertical, horizontal - horizontal. Stretching and contraction should be smooth.

It requires 3rd party tool to fix it in the first version of CC3. We will plan it in the future version.

Thanks, Miranda, for the detailed explanations.  It's good to know (in particular about the RLHeads).  And the quality of the female at least looks really, really nice.

Hello Miranda,
on the subject of Head Creation
you say:
"In the first version of CC3, CC3 characters are not compatible with RLHeads from CrazyTalk 8, however, users can apply RLHeads on CC1 base in CC3 first, and then click a button to convert CC1 base to CC3 base. The conversion result of this workaround is good. We will make CC3 characters compatible with RLHeads in later version"

ok.. that seems to sound good for those who have that ability thru the "piplines". but, there are those of us who do not have the "pipeline". and in reading you answer to head creation,, it would appear that the my question was either, blown off.. or misunderstood. as a customer in good standing.. I hate to think I'm being blown off due to developers being lazy and all. or not knowing what they are doing. so i'll assume that I'm being misunderstood. so I will phrase it as if I'm talking to a child..

now, with the older iclone characters, one used to be able to create a face "within" iclone. this process was a simple method, where I could take a photograph of you, Miranda, and create a face with it to put on an RL character. thus your now a character in iclone.. with the invent of CC. that is not possible. there is no "real" facial creation at all within CC.  you are now required to purchase a pipeline of CT8 in order to do something that was once standard feature in iclone. I understand the differences.. what I do not understand is why?

question: why? why create a "character creator" and not be able to create the custom face? surly such a single thing can not be too difficult for a developer to do.. right?
I mean, after all.. if your trying to make your product so you can use it in other programs.. why skip a basic thing? or maybe that is it!
too busy getting your products to work with other non-RL products instead of your own product.

question: why? why is it a requirement to use CT8 for facial creation.. and to screw your customers into having to buy the pipeline to take that face from CT8 to iclone?
yes.. it was a temporary solution.. that has now become permanent thing. sounds like there is money to be made in "pipelines"  these days. now I understand thru
the sliders in CC, you could create faces. but that is a very long and drawn out process. I have already spent 6 hours trying to make my sweet girly friend's face...
and I'm still not finished.. ah.. is this what you call improved workflow? BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

now.. sometime in the future, I plan on a purchase of the iclone pipeline. that is a good investment. but to purchase a CT8 pipeline.. for a product I don't use.. not a good investment.
you see Miranda, I have no desire to use other programs like Maya, unity, daz, or any of the other things I see in the forum, that the forum gods like to use. I purchased iclone for my needs.
i have no interest to use other programs.. and so.. i will end it here..  I'm way too tired to continue trying to explain things. i work for a living. I'm not a basement dweller. and maybe because
i'm not one.. i will be misunderstood, taken out of content.. and told to shut up. i just don't understand the madness in this situation. anyway.. forget i spoke. forget i wrote.

now, let us all focus on that Iray.. and making things work for the 3rd party stuff.. and make sure ya all get them pipelines so you can go from one RL program to another..
