If it is Vram thats causing an issue there must be a bug. I've rendered animations in iClone 7(not 7.2) that used in excess of 15gb and my card is only a gtx 970 with 4gb of ram. The system should use system ram when vram is full.

yes that is the catch because with virtual memory it is showing I have 20GB of VRAM while the GPU usage  is not going over 4.5 GB

Well I tried again this time I opened Windows task manager to see how GPU is being used.

GPU usage never went above 4.5 GB out of 8GB  and cpu never over 20 %.

So I doubt VRAM is a problem here.

Something is wrong with iclone itself. Any idea how can I re-roll to the old version of iclone?

The only way to roll back to an earlier iClone version is to uninstall 7.21 and reinstall the earlier one that you want to use. Since only the latest versions are available for download from a user account you will have to revert to using the last installer that you downloaded and saved.

Also be aware that in almost all cases Projects saved in a later version can not be opened in an earlier version. Reallusion iClone files are not backward compatible.

That means I will also lose all the custom props and motions I have created in this version?

Correct, at least as far as the Props go. The Motions may, or may not, work.

Just to add to the problem. You will also need to roll back 3DXchange to the last version. Character Creator should be OK due to the fact that there was no update released along with the iClone 7.21 version.

Sorry if this was covered before (I just woke up and I'm not *quite* awake) but have you tried rendering to images instead?  (Which you really should be doing anyway -- the only reason to render to a codec is for test purposes -- no final render should ever be done to a codec in iClone).

My hunch is it will work just fine, but it would be interesting to know.

Ok guys it is still happening, I have even increased the virtual memory of all my drives but it is still crashing the computer, exactly when I render the video of my scene.
Going to upload crash dump files to the feedback tracker.

This is really frustrating because when I render an animation of my character without all the dof and gi settings and my scene it never crashes.
So something in my scene is causing it and I have no idea exactly what.

Can you please send us a download link to your project so we can test it. You can either send a download link to Support or just PM me the link and we will investigate the problem. Thanks.

Yes Peter I am sending you the link to the feedback tracker page, it has the dump files as well as the link to the source file.

One more issue happening is that after booting up the system, iclone crashes the first time it starts. It doesn't happen the second time.
