Ran across this $21 3D Map Generator - Terrain from Heightmap Plugin for Photoshop CC-2014 and newer, PC or Mac, and was wondering if anyone has used it yet or some insights as to whether or not it's worth playing with.

Yes, I have investigated demos and tutorial on that also. It looks good but so far I haven't been able to determine if the terrain is exportable from photoshop for use in other software. From what I have seen and the way I have seen it, it seems like it is only a way of importing a 3D terrain into photoshop to be used to generate 2D images. But I am totally unsure of that. Hope someone has some actual use of this, I might even end up buying photoshop if the terrain can be exported and it works well ???????

The concept is interesting but I wouldn't want to subscribe to photoshop cc just for this plugin. I would rather pay a little more if they decide to create a standalone app. I am wondering if we could use our own high quality substance textures, after importing the maps in Iclone. This is something that can not be done with height maps at the moment.
