Hi folks. I've been trying to modify an iclone character in Maya, but importing it through 3dxchange has caused some issues (see below). Here's what I did:
  1. Export Mr. Pose + animation to fbx (maya 64-bit preset) using 3dXchange 6.5
  2. Import to Maya 2017
  3. Play the animation (at this point everything seems to be OK)
  4. Duplicate part of the body to create clothing and drag it out to the right
  5. Play the animation again.

Not sure if you can see it clearly, but here are the problems:

  1. The "clothing" animates. I don't think it should since it's not rigged.
  2. The polygon faces are acting weirdly. What I can see is that the "missing" faces from the "cloth" jumped back to the left (the original Mr. Pose' body).

I couldn't find anything on youtube or Google on how to fix this since I'm not sure what this problem is called. Any quick advice on how to fix this? Maybe a video link or two on how to fix these problems? I also welcome suggestion on some alternative workflows like removing the original skeleton before importing, but I'm not sure if that is possible. Thanks.
