Thanks Peter, but why does it work OK in iclone3 and not iclone4? If I scale to 9999.9 in 3DEx the models are too small and because that is the iclone4 limit I can't make them any bigger. My main problem is that Poser models I converted and used in iclone3 are no good in iclone4 as they cannot be scaled up. I'll try scaling them up in Poser, and if that works I will have a huge task in remaking several hundred Poser props that I have in iclone3, which are now useless. Unless I throw out iclone4 and revert to iclone3, which means I've wasted 100's of dollars for nothing!
This is not a 3DExchange problem, it is an iclone4 bug and should be fixed.
Not impressed

RobarJust a thought: could you scale in 3DXchange once and then reload the VNS file and scale again? Or does it remember the previous scale setting? I don't remember.

I think it remembers the settings zuijlen. However, at one time if you increased the size, then saved to custom folder, when you added to scene again, you could then increase. Haven't used this in ages, so not sure if it is still the case. Hope this helps Shy :)

RobarThanks Shygirl & zuijlen for your suggestions. I have since found that by scaling any new Poser models by 500 (in Poser). Export an .obj file to 3DExchange. Set scale to 10000 in 3DEx. This equals 9999.9 in iclone4 which then needs to be scaled down to 5000 for correct size. This method is no good for iclone3. Again, I will repeat that this is a bug in iclone4 as my Poser models from iclone3 are now useless in iclone4. I hope that this bug will be fixed soon Robar

I didn't see this thread. Sorry for the double post, but I really would like some help. I have an a500n HP AMD Athlon XP, 2 GB RAM, 2 gHz CPU. Using XP Home SP3. I know I'll have ¤some¤ issues with iC4 in this environment, but I managed to create a scene with no problem. But I'm following this on YouTube and I'm trying to do basic scripting. I can get to the facial Animation Modify page, but when I click the TYPE button under "Text to speech" I get the Windows Crash dialog every time.
What is going on here? Sigh.
This is my first ever installation of iClone 4 Standard. Never heard of the application until i went to DigitaJuice.com and saw their demo of the product, plus the deal they (iC4 STD, plus Motion Montage & Virtual Studio for 90$) was too good to pass up.
You think it may be my MS TTS installation?
I should mention that I re-installed the 4.11 patch just in case, used the RECORD and LOADING of audio files feature, & I was able to export a scene with both. I saved the project then clicked the TYPE button again, and it crashed. I submitted a bug report to TechSupport. I have SAPI 4 and tested my speech and TTS system it works, even DragonNaturallySpeaking works.

gizmo (1/7/2010)
Hi Mick. I'm sorry but I do not think I can really be much help to you now with a project file. I've finished rendering and as the files were huge I deleted most of them. (I will double check this as I've saved a couple of the scenes because I may use them again on other videos). At best I can try to explain the problem I encountered . . . which won't take long. I set up the scene. Set up about 4 camera's from memory and did some rendering. I then change to preview camera for some further prop repositioning or to add a character. The preview went to 'its own' position somewhere in around terrain or 3d scene. Click on the prop/character 'home' button and nothing happened. The preview camera remained static. I ran the slider to view the results. The camera 'in preview mode' went from 'its own' position to any other position I had set one of the other camera positions too, it seemed depending on whatever mood it was in. In order to access a prop/character, I had to create a new camera, click on the prop and then click on the home button. Once in any 'set' camera mode, the screen did follow my intended path. I did try deleting all camera's and indeed all known motions and the Reset button at one stage but the problem persisted. In summary something seemed to be setting itself in preview camera mode and I could not find or access whatever it was in order to delete or alter it. I hope this helps. In the meantime I'll have another look for that project file and forward if possible. Edit: I have found a file which may be useful and have forwarded. I do hope I'm not be saying 'duh' to myself shortly! Dear Gizmo, This issue has been passed to our developing team, and we have arranged to release a patch to fix this issue. This patch will release soon. If we release it, you can check Reallusion Live Update. Alternatively, you can take notice our official website.
Yours sincerely,
Mick Technical Support Reallusion Inc. www.reallusion.com
