Hi Peter, Sorry I had several major projects due with iClone so this problem had me scrambling since my post to come up with workarounds to meet deadlines. As for the driver issue, I had tried rolling it back that night but I still had the same result. I honestly can't recall when I last updated my driver (I do try to keep them current) but it could have been around the time when the really tiny glitches started but the effects weren't anywhere as bad as this instance - this just seemed to come out of nowhere on that night. I have one more deadline to meet tom'w before I'll have a brief lull where I can troubleshoot the problem further. Thanks to those who offered suggestions - I'll explore them as well. I'll post back if I don't have any success or if I find any solutions. Thanks, aT

afterThought (11/22/2009) I've recently started having this issue where layers of my avatars are bleeding together and flickering - like two different objects are trying to occupy the same space.I call this Patchy Camera Lens Disease (PCLD). This is not new to iClone 4, at least for me--I has lots of problems with it in iC3. Check and see whether this affects you more as you increase the lens size. I find that the higher I go above 80mm, the more I get this problem. IT IS VERY COMMON AND VERY SERIOUS. Please give us a fix, if possible!

Project Collapse Syndrome (PCS) The following issue IS new to iClone 4, at least to me, and it is even more serious than Patchy Camera Lens Disease (PCLD), mentioned above. I worked very hard on several projects following RL's call for SciFi content. After days of work, at least two of those projects were ruined and will be hard to recover, due to Project Collapse Syndrome. Symptoms: when the project is re-opened, the props have lost their translation and scale properties (possibly also their rotation properties, I can't say). They are all bunched together like a clump of garbage at the zero point of 3D space. Since this problem occurs without warning and results in massive work loss, this is a serious issue.

As always, your reports in this thread will be passed to the iClone Development Team for review and evaluation. Thank you for your feedback. :)

I've recently started having this issue where layers of my avatars are bleeding together and flickering - like two different objects are trying to occupy the same space. It used to be only a tiny occasional issue (one or two small instances on an avatar that I had shrunken to child size - I thought that was the cause) but now it's occurring on my other models. It has occurred on models in G3 CloneCloth, BB's SkinTight Superhero Cloth, with the Flowing Hair, as well as parts of terrains (more specifically the swings on the "community stage" terrain default as I was playing back a scene). I'm including an image and a video to show what I'm talking about. The flickering occurs even over a static frame whenever the mouse is moved around. The problem gets better the closer the camera moves to the object. I'm also noticing the shadows are flickering as well (it's in Drop Shadow mode). CORRECTION: Issue occurs in both iC3 and iC4. It doesn't seem to matter how small the project is - the video only has 66,000 faces. My graphics drivers are also up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated. iC4 glitch from afterThought on Vimeo. Hi, The problem may occur in the larger scene because of camera angles. Next patch will fix this defect. Before solving, you are able to adjust camera settings to solve the problem. Please follow the below instructions. 1) Go to Camera/Modify. There is “Clipping Plans”. 2) You must set the “Near” to 2, and then you set it back to 1. We apologize for the inconvenience caused, and thanks you for your understanding.
Yours sincerely,

Wow, it's good to know there's any easy workaround, and a coming fix, too. Thanks! :) I just wish I had brought this up months ago!

I created a post in the General section before realizing I should have posted here. I am getting constant crashes in iClone4, for me most of them have been when I try to save the project. If I save the project after every change / prop add etc then it seems to be ok, but if I add grass, add character, add motion, preview and then try to save the project e.g. it crashes. Also if I am adding grass and the planter is showing and I try to save the project, it seems to crash every time. Is this a known issue that is going to be addressed in a future patch ? Any workarounds to avoid crashes ? Thanks.

Does the project contain a lot of high poly objects or high resolution textures? Every computer system has its limits on how much it can handle before becoming unstable and its possible you reached yours with this project. It could also be down to one item in your project that is causing the crash. In this case it will need to be found and replaced. The best practise is to build your project in stages and save as a new file at each stage. Then you can always drop back to previous working version if adding something causes crashes. If you would like to send the project to support, they will look at it for you and try to find what is causing the instability. You can zip it up and attach it to the support ticket, or if it is too large, you can send it to reallusion@gmail.com but still send a support request detailing the problem as well. http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx Thanks.

I'm sorry to say that I suffered from "Missing Move Gadget Syndrome" again this morning. It's an annoying issue, but not debilitating. Requires a restart of iClone to rectify the problem, or a quick Ctrl-Q to revert to the old move system temporarily. (Unfortunately, switching back and forth does NOT bring the Gadget back once it's gone). Still can't reproduce it on demand, as it happens only occasionally. It does seem to be related to imported props (from 3DWarehouse), though once it goes awry, standard iCLone props/blocks also become affected. I should also point out it's not just the Move Gadget that disappears (though it's the most common, probably as it's the one I use most) as the Rotate and Resize ones also vanish in the same way. Has anyone else suffered from this? Maybe it's something peculiar to my system/configuration? Thanks, BiggsTrek.
