I'm using iClone to letterbox its own previous video output and export for online video hosting.

I feed the video to the diffuse texture of a plane in the new project and transcode the scene to MP4.

The problem is that the video playback in the plane halts halfway through during the export step.

The entire video can be viewed (on a hit-or-miss basis; isn't always responsive), by moving the project timeline cursor.

The original video size is 11Mb.

Dear Support,

iClone is very unstable on my system. I am not sure if others have experienced this problem or not, but as soon as the scene gets to a certain level of complexity OR there are more than a couple of avatars, iClone will hang. I am doubtful that it is my PC system as everything works fine until one of the two mentioned conditions is reached. I have listed my PC specs below, just in case there are any known hardware instabilities.

PC Specs
---------
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU Type: 4x2666 MHz
System Memory: 6,135 MB
Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295
RAID Controller: Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO SATA RAID Controller
Main Disk Drive: SSD Drives - 119 GB Total - 2 in RAID 0 Array
Monitor: DELL 3007WFP 30" running at 2,560 x 1,600

Installed Product : iClone4 PRO Edition
Installed Version : 4.12.1313

Note: In the following picture all I was doing was testing out different textures on different avatars and iClone got stuck on "Please Wait...". Interestingly when I try and kill iClone with Task Manager, it actually responds asking me whether or not I want to save the project (Yes, No or Cancel). Pressing any of these buttons still goes back to "Please Wait...". This happens with or without trial content.

PS: Reading some of the other issues I also have the move gizmo disappearing until I restart issue.

This is VERY frustrating!

EYES and TEETH BUGS

Hey I was working on a custom avatar face and I ran into an interesting problem... must be a small bug in the code somewhere...

When I customize the teeth for an avatar with custom diffuse image and custom opacity... it works fine except the bottom row of teeth remain unchanged.... see image below....

I also had some problems customizing the eyes... the left eye would customize properly, but the right eye could never be oriented in the correct direction... and the "wandering right eye" cannot be reset to correct positions and cannot be fixed by applying a new eye style from the templates....  "Cheating" the right eye into the right direction and then applying adjustments to the iris or whites colour reveals that the eye is *still* pointing in the wrong direction.

Thanks in advance for any solutions...

Hi,

Please just use iClone4 Template avatar such as “Jana”. Then applying custom teeth or eyes. We are wondering whether the problem persists.

We also need your project file (iProject). Please use main support channel: Support Form: http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx) to contact us.

Hello.

I am using iClone v4.12. When I use avatars from iClone v3.2 or lower, and add vocals to the iClone avatar, the lips make an exaggerated pucker. The lip-synch timing to vocals is not the problem. The problem is the exaggerated mouth movements that automatically occur without ever adding facial expressions to the avatar. None of this was ever a problem for me on iClone v3.2.

Thank you for your time.

Really pleased with the new lip-sync. :Wow:

@Mick: Ok, done. It only worked after the second attempt; so in case anything is missing, just let me know.

Hi, the material C285A_Violet_Casual_B_Upper.iMtl isn't entirely transparent where it should be. The reason is that the opacity map doesn't have the RGB value (0,0,0) for the black parts but (8,8,6). This will be particularly noticable when using a depth of field effect, then you can see the clone cloth.
Workaround: Select the opacity map and raise the contrast to maximum.

Cheers,
Burkhard

Unresponsive Blinking Muscle

Hi, in the "Muscle" view of the face key editor, the eye blinking muscle (ie. the one centered between the eyes) doesn't work properly. First, closing the eyes with it is way too slow, ie. you have to move the mouse about ten times downwards along the screen to close the eyes. Second, opening the eyes again by moving the mouse upward doesn't work at all. The only way to open the eyes again is to reset all muscles.

edit: When moving a single eyelid, the effect cannot be reverted, either.

Cheers,
Burkhard

Pasting creates more Motion Layer Keys than have been copied

Hi, just found a bug regarding Motion Layer Keys and Copy&Paste. Copy&Paste pastes more keys than have been copied before.

How to reproduce:
1) Create a new project and add a character.
2) Create 3 new motion layer keys for that character.
3) Select the three keys, copy them, and paste them to a later position in the time line.
4) Select the last two of the motion layer keys just pasted, copy them, and paste them to a later position.

The expected result would by that the last two copied keys will be pasted as two new keys. Instead, four keys will be pasted.

Cheers,
Burkhard

I just identified the reason for the nonfunctional emitter problem: The emitters used to be attached to an actor that was invisible at frame 1 and was turned visible at frame 4218. It appears that the emitters inherit the visibility track of their parent object. Unfortunately, they keep that track even when they are detached from their parent or when they are saved separately.

I managed to fix the emitters by making their parent visible at the first frame and then saving them again. They inherited the visibility status, ie. they are now visible from the first frame on.

So, what needs to be fixed in iClone is this: When objects that do not have a changeable visibility track of their own (eg. emitters) are attached to parent object that has a visibility track, their visibility settings need to be reset when they are detached from their parent or when they are saved separately as a custom object. Alternatively, and perhaps even better, just give every object kind that can be attached to some other object an accessible visibility track of its own. Then the user has control over the visibility and such bugs cannot occur anymore.

Cheers,
Burkhard
