I think iClone is a fantastic piece of software and I love using it but what I am about to say is just observations and issues that I have experienced lately.

Look at the fiasco last weekend 16-18th October with the Reallusion Server going down, now if Reallusion stopped this paranoid attitude with regards their stuff being hacked a lot of these problems would not have occured for a lot of users not being able to use the products that they had purchased due to watermarks etc, or some even not being able in even install items or the programme itself.

Just a simple online activation and none of this constant checking who is doing this and that with items they have purchased would surely make life easier for the servers. Ok Windows updates might also have had a part in this but what if next time there are no updates as the servers have gone down in the past. What then.

If folks are determined to hack the Reallusion products I am sure that eventually they will find a way but why oh why cause grief for the genuine users. My personal feeling on this is that you are slowly strangeling a brilliant product.

I use Vista Ultimate and to get certain features like drag and drop video content to work I have to turn UAC off this then shuts down a lot of other security factors and affects other items installed

2 examples when UAC was on Max2009 shows as Registered but with UAC off Unregistered Daz is another programme that does different things with UAC on or off.

Now you say that McAfee is a possible cause of the slow loading so what is iC4 doing that is causing that issue.

So in a nutshell I need to change my system so there is no UAC and dont use McAfee if I want to get iC4 to work properly. That is not how a piece of software should work.

I am glad that other software I have installed does not cause all this grief. Surely when in development these sort of things should have been investigated more thoroughly by the software team.

Well I can live without the video feature but I am not at the moment going to uninstall McAfee and hope that Reallusion looks into this possible issue and releases a fix soon, and why when constantly being told to keep graphics drivers uptodate as I did so the Characters loaded even slower.

I use Comodo ant-virus and firewall. When I first installed IC4 I experienced really slow content loading. Seems my Comodo settings somehow got altered to “Access” during IC4 installation and operations in IC4 were being “Scanned” before being authorised. I've never had a problem with my AV/firewall software before. When I returned the real time scanning to the normal “Stateful” setting the IC4 import speed was fine. I don't understand the technical reasons for this but know it resolved the problem for me. Hope this info might help others.

Since my previous posting I've just read your latest.

Thank you for voicing your opinions openly and honestly. I greatly appreciate reading them. They mirror many of my own feelings which were greeted at the weekend elsewhere on the forum with the suggestions from some members that it was a lack of creativity, imagination and adaptability which was causing frustration with these issues.

I concede there are times when “shut up, put up and be grateful” is best but that should never prevent us speaking out when we feel strongly that things are wrong. Thank you for taking the trouble to speak out.

I think this may have been mentioned before, but I'm not sure:

I am unable to edit the texture of G3 Heads in IC4. G4 heads: yes, but not G3 (and I assume G2, and G1, but haven't tried).

Is this a bug or just the way things are now? Maybe I'm doing something wrong (not the first time!)

I'm not sure if its been mentioned before either but you are correct biggstrek. Only G4 heads can be textured in iC4.

Any body else got his problem ? after creating custom head, and saving to it, it adds it to the scene but its not on the character. Its to the right of the character.

anyone know how to fix this?

Hi Duchess,

I certainly wasn't suggesting you should remove McAfee from your system. I was just pointing out that the slow loading problems are linked to certain antivirus software. The development team is working on a fix for this problem and you should see greatly improved results after the release of the iClone 4.1 upgrade.

Hi Bigstreak

 I have the same problem with G3 heads when i select texture Iclone crashes. The option to texture G2 and G1 heads are grayed out,but in iclone 3 everything works so the problem is with iclone 4.
