Swoop specifically pointed out that AML uses a lot of arcane commands and variables which have apparently gone undocumented. Knowing how to write valid XML would therefore be necessary but by no means sufficient--in fact, it's pretty much utterly beside the point.

RL's "Partner" web pages encourage developers to develop for AML, but if what Swoop says is true, RL won't get what it claims it is wishing for until it shares the secret meanings of its private scripting language. I don't see why that's so hard to understand.

Swoop, the other guys have been very patient with you, trying to help you communicate your goals and obstacles more clearly. If you will run a strict mental filter on your postings and discard emotional complaints and replace them with clear, objective statements, everybody wins.

What are the advertised products that you want to produce? I admit to being confused here.

Your previous posts have also been rather damning, claiming that Reallusion is only after money, yet you say your main interest is in the 3DS Max Pipeline and AML Script Editor. All of which are totally free. How is this wanting money out of you. Still confused I'm afraid.

Also if I may make a polite request. The sarcastic and often derogatory tone of your recent posts is not really conducive to good discussion and is only likely to alienate others forum users from replying. Seeker politely pointed this out previously but your reply seemed to be even more sarcastic. I can understand your frustration but please let's try and keep things friendly and respectful.

If you can explain your what you are trying to achieve and what is holding you back in more detail then I'm sure myself and others will try to help. If it is just down to learning AML then as I mentioned above, doing some tutorials or getting a book on XML will certainly help you understand AML more easily. Then practice with the AML Script Editor, first with very basic scripts (single perform commands) and once understood move on.

 I just downloaded XMLspy, and there seems to be many tutorials out there about XML.            So, hopefully I'll be editing scripts in no time.

After taking a look at the script I think the $ is associated with calling perform commands.

I guess embedding it isn't that hard as long as the commands are associated with the right nodes. 

The script seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to work with if I can figure out some the lines...

You certainly can. :)

AML files can be opened in Notepad and edited to your requirements. If you have any knowledge of XML then you are already half way there as AML is just an iClone version of that. You can work with AML files solely in Notepad if you wish or you can use a dedicated XML Editor if you have one. Whatever you find easier. Certainly learning XML will help you greatly with using AML.

When you say AML editor are you referring to the RL AML editor and iClone3 or the script editor from C2GO?

I have great interest in learning these commands myself. Is there any way to copy the scripts, delete commands from it, and discern the use of individual commands through a process of elimination?

Do you know how to embed the script into the object or avatar?

LF usually stands for left front so I would guess the $ represents a tire.

Perhaps comparing perform scripts with operate scripts will help in deciding what extra coding lines are used for operate commands.

 Your "Sarcastic Shortcomings" made it hard for me to know if you were actually having a problem with AML or not.

 I'm not even going to respond to the " wrong manner " reference.

That aside, what exactly is the problem?

  If you can import the FBX animation into 3DX4, can you not just set the slider at the end of each motion and collect the clips?

Have you gotten any motions into iClone?

I noticed you said you added camera motions, does iClone accept these?

 Since most of your recent posts are dripping with sarcasm, I'm having difficulty distinguishing the validity of your statements. Sarcasm is hard to convey on a forum, but I must say your one of the best at it that I've ever seen.

When this first started I could understand the point you were trying to make, though I didn't particularly like the way you presented it ( esp. the heavy sarcasm you layed on Zuiljen, that was completely uncalled for). Honoring those who freely give time and effort to teach advanced techniques is one thing, but going out of your way to leave a bad taste in a new members mouth is quite another. Not only does it hurt the company but it hurts the community as well.

 As for RL wanting money, of course they want to make money, they are a company with employees. Whom have bills to pay and families to feed and care for. Their prices are reasonable and I think their money is well earned.

 As for advanced tutorials, these are a rarity to most software. Try finding some for Poser or Daz,you won't find very many. iClone probably has more than most, thanks to contributors such as Apparition and Aknzrdude and others.

With that being said, I'll say this,

 From your posts it seems you have been fortunate enough to have been taught several advanced techniques. Until I see a free Swooop school open, or a video tutorial, or even a contribution to the Wiki, I don't see you have a leg to stand on. How can you yell at others about something you yourself are unwilling to do?
