I am in the UK and I'm looking to speak to someone from reallusion regarding the iclone product but I cannot locate numbers

Not sure what has happened to the world as so many companies do not want to converse with their customers.  Everything is so impersonal it's really bad.

I need preset virtual sets and I need to know what kind of prop costs I am looking at before I purchase the the product as I have seen some awful reviews and critics on your sales pitches being flogged off as training

I am new to this product and I have downloaded the trial but where do I get proper training resources from and what kind of support infrastructure do you have in place/

Hi Kojo,

The contact numbers for Reallusion can be found HERE.

All the current content packs can be located by looking at the Content Store. If you take a little time to browse the different categories you will get an idea of what is available and the price ranges. iClone also has an another online store available called BackStage. This allows you to purchase individual models rather than full content packs using points.

For training you can find a lot of information HERE.

You can also find a large number of video tutorials HERE.

Hi Swooop,

Your fully entitled to your current negativity towards Reallusion but it is totally incorrect to say you are forced to buy content and forced to sign up for a class. No one is forced to do anthing.

The vast majority of the long term users of iClone on this forum learned as I did through reading all the available resources and through practise. They didn't require classes and it is fully possible to master iClone without the extra tuition. It is also important to note that any classes that are offered are from other iClone users, not from Reallusion.

i´m sorry not to agree with some of the veterans point of view. Yes, is true that you can learn iclone by looking into the manuals and watching some of the tutorials on Reallusion site, but...i can understand frustration with Reallusion learning support...i been there.

I don´t agree that Reallusion is forcing anyone to pay for learning, at least not intencionally(that we agree tottaly Peter).

But I have to say (and i said that many other times) that there should be more and better tutorials. I love iclone (really love it) but, especially for a newbie, it´s a confusing world and Reallusion doesn´t make it easier, because there´s only a few good tutorials (most of them are real bad or incomplete). One great exemple is clonecloth. if it wasn´t for Alley´s tuts i would never be able to fully grasp the concept. And here´s another important thing: If someone get´s to frustrated with iclone he will probably quit, and Reallusion will loose one pottencial client. I watch other foruns on machinima and many users complaint about this.

Thanks god there´s a good community to help them. If it was for Reallusion that would be difficult, sorry for thinking this way.

I don´t want to hurt anyone´s feelings, so sorry if my point of view is not so defensive of reallusion (altough i love iclone and other products) but i believe we should be more critic on things that are not so good. The good things aren´t important to discuss, only the ones we believe can be better. Altough we love iclone and we now mastered it, we should not think everyone will or should act like that. Of course people have to practise to be good (that´s a universal truth), but the company that make the software must work on help them getting better (or at least should).

OH, and Peter, it´s true «that any classes that are offered are from other iClone users, not from Reallusion», and that´s a real pity. That´s exactly my point. Reallusion makes a tool and then we have to figure out how to use it and if we don´t we have to go digging for help from other users. Why don´t Reallusion make some official classes? i´ll be glad to pay for them.

I totally sympathize with your frustration with tutorials that have a tendency to miss out basic steps that they assume most people know, going from step A to step C totaly missing B, but can not agree with your comments about not finding help in the forums, I bet if you posted a HELP WITH AML thread people would fall over themselfs to help..

I don't think there is any argument that the tutorials supplied have not been received as well as was hoped. For sure some lacked some depth but there is also a lot to learn from the large number of tutorials that are available.

I have always looked at tutorials as a way to guide you into using the software. Most tutorials I have encountered both in 3D and in gaming guide you into using the software but rarely do they show you everything there is to know.

I think what swoooop is looking for is a tutorial that explains everything and once watched/read you will have it all mastered. Realistically that is unlikely in the complex world of 3D software. Even 3DS Max with its comprehensive suite of tutorials still leaves you with much to learn afterwards.

For sure improvements in the training materials could be made and your feedback is always very much appreciated in this regard. The team will certainly try to do better in the future I'm sure. :)
