Good observation. Yes, I forgot to mention this: I imported the CC Base Female figure into Marvelous Designer, but then changed the pose from the standard A pose to the slightly “narrower” A pose available inside MD. This pose yields much better draping results for this garment. I thought that I could just manually adjust the CC Base Female inside CC and “narrow” the A pose to fit the tunic, but as I mentioned, I have not been able to make it match. Surprising, since the geometry of each figure is identical, and the poses are not radically different.
I tried to find a way to export just the pose data out of Marvelous Designer so I could bring it into Character Creator and just apply it to the CC Base Female, but I have not found a way to do that. I can import the MD “Narrow A Pose” avatar and turn it into a humanoid figure, but for some reason, this will not allow me to transfer skin weights to the tunic. I’m guessing the humanoid figure doesn’t have skin weights, and I have not yet figured out how to add them to it.
So now I’m wondering what the shortest path is to the end result that I seek: I’d like to turn this tunic into a piece of conforming clothing in Character Creator, but use the narrow A pose as my starting point so I can retain the good-looking draping.
Any suggestions on the best approach here will be greatly appreciated.
