I’m encountering a strange problem when I import meshes into Character Creator and turn them into clothing. The meshes import with strangely changed proportions, so they no longer fit the avatar. As an example, I imported this tunic that I made in Marvelous Designer (please see attached screenshots). It was created on the CC3 Female base mesh inside MD, so it should fit perfectly, but upon importing it into Character Creator, it no longer fits. I’ve tried scaling, rotating, and moving it in various combinations, but no amount of manipulation provides a good fit.
(I briefly experimented with sculpting the mesh inside Character Creator, but this to some extent ruins the beautifully realistic draping I achieved in Marvelous Designer, so I’d like to avoid that.)
I’ve tried importing both OBJ and FBX. Also: I textured this in Substance Painter, so I also tried exporting a mesh straight out of that program and importing it, but this did not solve the problem.
Anyone have a guess what might be causing this? I’m hoping I’m just making some beginner’s error that has an easy fix. Many thanks for any help you folks can offer.
