Thanks I will definitely watch this and thanks for the input.
Here is a question for the gurus in the group... 1. How long should it take an iClone pro to modify my model ?

Here is your starting point for converting animals to humanoids with motions. Without this step you will not be able to use face features and visemes for making your animal talk. It does not cover rigging (characterization) part, nor creating face blend-shapes. I just made one (Jaw Open as an example). But there are plenty of tutorials from RL covering that (one posted above). You must have your animal as a prop with all motions already applied to perform. In the video I use a characterization profile I have created prior (you'd have to characterize the cat yourself).

Hey Lee, if you don't find a solution, I can check the cat in 3DXChange. But this will be rudimentary, a simple but individual open/close for each vowel...

Thanks this is very helpful. I admit its a lot more than I anticipated. It is one of the situations where it is not complicated just move involved. I think my problem is I am juggling too many things at the same time. If were just doing 3D animation then this would not be an issue.
Thanks for the link, I will go back and watch this a couple more times. I need to find a friend who is 99% into iClone and Blender but needs some help with photography, lighting or IT stuff we can trade info. hehe Lee

He yawns and looking at the bones and the rigging it looks to me like he should be able to talk. Can you tell from looking at this screen shot? it is more a matter of iclone compatible blend shapes being needed for automated speech, such as Acculips and to create them you will need to use an EXTERNAL modeling/sculpting application such as Blender.

Toystorylabs thanks. This gives me some hope this is possible. Do you know of any videos or tutorials on how to use the process you described? There are a couple of reasons for going through this much trouble instead of buying another model. 1. The Learning Process I figured this could not be that hard and by teaching myself how to do this it would come in handy down the road. 2. I Like this Model The design of this model has the textures and color I needed so that is a big reason why I would like to use this model. 3. Its FULLY Rigged The creator already has fully rigged this cat and want to use this existing animation.

Good suggestion. I am not familiar with this process but sounds like it might be the issue. I guess there is more this than I suspected. :(

Darn, I was hoping this was not the case. So this brings up the question... 1. If you have an FBX Rigged model that will import into iClone - Then what would you need to do to animate the cat to talk? - What is confusing is i see all kinds of non humoids that can talk. - What this was a model I created in Blender, wouldn't it be the same? - He is fullly rigged and can run, jump, yawn, etc.

Well, CC4 has Expression Editor, which is even more advanced than 3DX has. Moreover, you may convert most non-human animals into humanoid along with any motion files they have and then build a face profile either from available blendshapes (like DAZ), or make your own. Moreover, you may convert most non-human animals into humanoid along with any motion files they have and then build a face profile either from available blendshapes (like DAZ), or make your own. You know I had a vague memory of seeing such a feature during the many Iclone 8/CC4 promo videos after its release. Perhaps someone can hunt down a video of the process for the OP to use with his cat model.
