Thanks for your question. I couldn't agree with you more. I started learning Headshot and CC4 just a few months back and decided to do an animation on the Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. Just as a fun way to learn. And there is no way any of the styles on the content store are suitable. I even tried Auto mode (low res) but that hair is just for background people.

If you have found any more male hair content then please let me know, or a way of easily creating some basic styles.

I stepped into the same trap, "Hair Builder" and "Unlimited Hairstyles" suggests a Hairbuilder for Unlimited Hairstyles and not a Hair Builder for Unlimited Female Haistyles.
Kind of misleading description. In my opinion RL should offer a Hair Builder which either includes Male and Female Hair Parts or offer Builders for Male and Female sperately,
clearly marked as Male / Female.

Another slight joke is that RL sales a Hair Builder - Beard Combo. Dont tell me woman wear beards at RL. ;-) ;-) ;-)

You can convert CC4 Camila hair as an OBJ and send to various third party 3D programs.
If you bring it back into CC4, I know you can use the edited OBJ hair as an Accessory in IC8 and CC4.
I don't know if you can convert back to ihair.
If you try and export purchased hair or other items from Content Store and The Marketplace, you will have to buy a
license to use in third party apps. Purchased items from Content Store and The Marketplace are
free between IC and CC.
You can take any OBJ and FBX hair and import into CC4 as an Accessory.
I only have IC7 and CC3 and CC4. I exported Camila's hair as an OBJ, and imported
it into IC7 (if you have 3DXchange) as an Accessory.
CC3 lets you import OBJ and FBX as Accessories or Props.
I hope this helps.

There are multiple workflows for making hair in blender. Be sure that you do your research. For example there is an "old" particle system. And then there is also a "new" curves system that is more modular and uses procedural geometry nodes. Both are very powerful and legitimate methods of making hair. But as I said, be sure to spend at least a couple of hours on researching the difference between the two.

@ToKoMotion, thank you. Your add-on looks fascinating, but I'm afraid I need a better material quality atm. I will keep an eye on the updates from your page tho ;0

@Sophus, I understand what you're saying, but it seems you missed what I meant :) I asked if I have hair model can I put it into cc4? And if "yes" is there a tutorial on how to do that? Also, when you mentioned "hair models on artstaion" I go there and purchased a pretty cool pack. So I was thinking if I will be able to put this pack objs into cc4?

@greenwilliesjrsss, thank you for the heads-up on the blender add-on. I didn't know it has built-in feature to build hairs. I need to look at it closely.

You can make your own hairstyles in Blender. Using the built in tools for free.

Or you can buy various products that make it a little bit more streamlined for a premium $$

I recommend just watching tutorials and not buying the premium products for hair in Blender. As i purchased one of those and later on realized that it was completely unnecessary. But it doesn't hurt to look at the video in order to see what you can eventually learn to do in Blender for hair

Though I haven't tried to export those to CC4 from Blender as I'm using the Blender hair system for UE5 export. You'll have to ask someone else about bringing it to CC4.

thank you for the reply. So you're saying if I have hairs model in obj format I can easily put it into cc4 and make it look like this, I mean the hair material and texture quality not the shape:

No,  I said the opposite. You don't need to create the obj hair cards yourself but you likely need to modify or make textures and shaders to fit Reallusion shader system and you likely need a 3D modelling application with more powerful tools then Character Creator to fit the objs to your character. That's why it might not be for you if you prefer an easy load-asset-and-it's-done-way of doing these things. On the other hand, the selection of hair styles on Artstation is much, much larger then in the Reallusion store and they don't have the giant numbers of polygons you'll find in hair styles from DAZ/Poser stores.

Also look at this pack:  Hair Studio
Might be closer to what you are after.

Thank you. Will it work with hair builder, morphs? Does it compatible with hairsmart system? can I use it with my cc3+ characters?
I like it has many shapes, but the hair material quality not very close to Trendy Male hairstyles packs. Does it allow changing material to be the same or similar quality?

Thank you very much for mentioning HairStudio here - appreciate it a lot :). Regarding your questions:

HairStudio hair assets do not include morphs (yet). I added various hair elements in the pack, which can be further adjusted via Transform, Rotate, Scale or the Edit Mesh feature in CC3 to find your desired style. HairStudio is also based on the SmartHair Material feature, but you can not use Hair Builder materials. I'm constantly working on improvements for the HairStudio materials and some new (free) updates will be available soon.

Hope that helps and feel free to let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best Regards,
Tobias
