I bought character creator and many of the upgrades when 3 first came on scene. It's like are you serious about the price of 4! 200 more then I originally paid for 3, that is a joke!
I think Reallusion offers a good value for those who wish to remain entirely inside the Reallusion ecosystem.
However you have 3D character animation alternative but you need to decide if migrating to another 3d Character eco system will provide the value you particularly need/want.
I personally have chosen to forego IC8/CC4and remain on IC7/CC3 pipeline with 3DX pipeline and the curve editor.
Daz studio is free but is useless as it has no functional human IK system.
Poser at $250 has a rudimentary IK system but an ancient Character animation toolset not effectively updated since the late 1990’s
and a pathetically bad & poorly supported Character & content ecosystem.
I have Blender (with third party rigging & character animation addons)
and more recently Autodesk Maya.
At $1800 per year obviously Maya is not an attractive option for most individuals.
However Blender ,with the auto rig pro addon $40
animation layers as addon $29
and the Faceit(face rigging) addon $78
and you have a far superior character animation
CUSTOM RIGGING and rendering tool than Iclone 8 for under $150
And you can still use the FREE Blender pipeline tool
to bring your “old” CC3 figures and any "transformed" Daz figure from Genesis 1-8 into blender via CC3 pipeline.
