Here is a summary of my Win 10 WER Crash Report after clicking the TRY button on the Reallusion Hub Window to the right of the first app in the list. Note, this can be done for any Win 10 app. This occurs after submitting the login form. A support ticket I submitted at [Link Removed By Moderator - Please Don't Post Support Ticket Links on the Forum] has all the details The Reallusion developers should need to resolve this issue that occurs after submitting the login form when executing the Reallusion Hub App using Win 10. The login form greys then wait while a whirlygig displays, then both it and the Reallusion Hub window close and WER executes and generates the Crash Report for the DLL. This does not occur for several other DLL's using the same name but executing in their own vendor' namespace.

I followed the above thread and changed the Computer | Properties | Advanced | Page File as directed but the error persisted. I also disabled the new Win 10 feature for malware detection called DED which was suggested for the Reallusion executables. Since then I focused on every way including app overrides that turned this off specifically for the executables and other security parameters but to no avail. The DLL is throwing a well-documented exception attributable to a Win 10 memory access restriction violation and despite disabling all I could find the same exception code is output and WER stops the execution of the two applications.

The Dynamic Link Library module named Qt5Network.dll is the real culprit here and is the reason the login form sits, after submitting the form and then both the Reallusion hub window closes as does the login form after they eventually time out and the WER or Windows Error Reporting executes because it detected an executable that threw an exception. The error is also reported by the Win 10 Event Viewer and Task Manager, which will show the two executables in real-time as the two process execute, wait, time-out, and WER briefly displays.  You can see all of this after right-clicking the Start icon, Event Viewer, and Task Manager options after submitting the login form. I just launch them followed by the Reallusion Hub and then login.   Event Viewer and Task Manager tell all so no second-guessing here or any other Win10 errors as this is the right way to find and resolve them in my case at least. Looking at a whirlygig on a login form that eventually closes inexplicably along with an app window is what you will be doing for a long time without these two user debugging tools. It may also be the same for you so just take a look at the Event Viewer and Task Manager after executing the Reallusion Hub and submitting the login form.

Make the changes first and be really careful (I mean this, it can trash your machine) to change everything back to what it was as this drops security and you will get hacked if you don't get the Win 10 OS back to where it was. Windows Defender and your Anti-Virus Software have to be running at all times so only do this for the test and scraping the reports, etc. for submittal to Support using a ticket. The other settings can also compromise your security so don't change and forget anything when changing back. Take screen prints or scrape and keep in Notepad to get them back to what they were. Windows Settings allows you to easily reset and your anti-virus does also. If you are unsure, don't do this unless you contact Reallusion Support first.

The support ticket has detailed event log entries and WER crash reports.  I still feel Reallusion beats Adobe, Maxon, and CInema but unless I can evaluate it, I can't purchase it. I am curious if the ticket I placed with the same information will get Rellusion Support and more importantly their developer's attention for what could be an avid purchaser and advocate of this product. So far on screens and videos, it looks like a real winner.

After a few weeks going back and forth on this and lamenting I could not evaluate the product I thought was one of the best, I hope this helps all the users who have had problems installing and evaluating it. I found the solution when another product I was evaluating did the same thing and I had more incentive to do some more investigating. I had two products that I could not evaluate now!

As I felt from the beginning after looking at the WER Report I mention in the first thread, Windows DEP, introduced in Win 7, is blocking the Reallusion hub and login, causing Windows WER to execute, and write the exception report. Win 10 also records the event in the Application Event Log. This happens when both the hub and login form eventually time out since they cannot access the PC's restricted memory. It may also have something to do with the operating system's paging file which I disabled after setting it to allow the system to manage it which did not work. So on a hunch, I disabled it and that was the last tweak made after which everything installed and works without any issues so far. Reallusion needs to determine why the module is throwing the exception. The module is accessing restricted memory and DEP does not like the way it is doing it. I'll submit the thread so perhaps Reallusion can get this fixed. Ignore any previous posts made on this topic as they are a bit confusing; this is succinct and tested.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install Reallusion Hub 4.08.4029.1 and launch.
2. Click Try for any displayed product.
3. Login form displays.
4. Enter the user name and password.
5. Login form waits.
6. The login form eventually closes as does the Reallusion Hub window.

What to look for:
1. WER - Windows Error Reporting writes a log to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive

8. I disabled the page file. Right-click 'This PC' from File Explorer - System Properties | Performance Options | Virtual Memory and uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
9. Click the No paging file radio button and click OK. I added this and I am testing if when enabled, the error appears again. If you don't have a lot of RAM this will kill performance.
10. Be sure you do a cold (not warm) reboot.

I have a low-end machine but it still performs well as I tweak using Task Manager so any unnecessary processes are killed, priorities are set low on ones that don't need it any higher, set some to the background, others I raised to normal and I run the Hub at high. This is unnecessary unless you have a low-end machine. It runs really well and renders are not too bad.

Note, you cannot disable DEP for a 64-bit process, and since there are 32-bit processes running also I decided to disable it. Once I determine the cause using the dump I'll post it. I also enabled Legacy Mode in the BIOS. This may cause your PC to no longer reboot! I cannot be responsible for any of these steps causing your PC to no longer function, and they can cause it to no longer function if not done correctly. Not having a backout plan may cost you to get the machine running again. I recommend a complete image backup or at the minimum, a Restore Point should be done first. If that puzzles you, definitely ask a professional before doing any of this.

It is recommended to not disable DEP permanently. Reallusion needs to fix the code that is triggering the exception. I scan my machine overnight for malware every day of the week. I also visit only trusted sites using an add-on for my browser. I have virus scanning enabled in real-time. If I am visiting a lot of sites or researching I enable DEP again. Be cautious or you will get hacked eventually if this is not fixed and you continue to use this workaround. I'll do a follow-up if all this was necessary or just what was in the thread I refer to. The permanent solution is for the Reallusion developers to not violate the [ACCESS_RESTRICTION] rule that is throwing the exception after the hub and login eventually time-out since they are trying to access restricted memory. I also believe it is tied in with the page file is involved as until I disabled it the error continued. Omitting anything I mention ion this thread did not resolve the issue until I had all of them in place and rebooted.

This should provide what is needed. I'll submit a ticket to support and hope they realize what I have here is proven to work and also tells them exactly what the issues are in my case and from some of the post I see others are having the same issue and this may resolve it but the code needs to be fixed. Reallusion needs to determine why this workaround is now necessary due to DEP. I am definitely sold on Reallusion so I will be purchasing most of it, with the exception of the full bodysuit but the hand motion device looks like a winner. With the great sale that is on right now, it's a no brainer to invest the $998 for most of it. I also use DAZ 3D and many other 2D and 3D animation suites completely compatible with all of the Reallusion demos I am trying. Also nice most are 30 days so you can really see if the investment is worth it. I felt Reallusion was also but at this price compared with some like Maya and AutoDesk. Both of these are great products but really pricey so I am taking advantage of the sale which ends soon.
