This guy is GOOOD! I don't know who he is, he has only five videos, I've watched all of them, but definitely it's high-class. I subscribed to his channel only to find out I was his first subscriber, such a shame for such good videos :( Worth watching, believe me.

Its that time again...time to catch up on some Iclone movies.

Kenshi: The Blood Prince by Aviticus Dragon - Two criminals are on the run after escaping from Emperor Tengu's prison. Lord Ohta assigns a loyal Samurai Captain to hunt them down, and return them dead or alive. Seeking shelter in a cave, the two criminals venture further into the depths, only to awaken their worst nightmare.

Loads of adventure here with great sets, lighting, fluid animation and some pretty cool first person camera work.   The dialog is a bit clunky at times but the monsters and action sequences more than make up for it.

Cliff Chase by 7imprice - "A workflow project between iClone, CC3, UE4 and Daz."

Great visuals (rendered in UE4), expansive and impressive environments, smooth animations and groovy music fill out this very fun creature feature.  One of the more impressive shorts I've seen lately.

Its been a while so its time to catch up by checking in on three recent Iclone music videos from 3 great directors.

Sapana (Dream) Music Video by Samin Javadian - "I had the opportunity of making this music video for a rock band. When they told me the story, I was interested. There was a kind of mixture of sadness and strong emotions poking us. It was touchy. And after 3 monthshere you go."

Here's the latest from Samin Javadian, the Director of the excellent "Last Chance".  This one is less caricatured than Last Chance, enjoyably depicting people and places different from my American world view.  The two paper airplane flights were particularly compelling sequences accompanied by soaring segments from the music.  A fair amount of time was spent setting up the relationships of the characters but little explained why the character left his family.  Perhaps the song explained but the language difference left me puzzled.  Still, a dramatic and enjoyable short from a talented creator.

All the Colours of the Dark by Dark Machine Pictures - "First venture into Blues for DMA and a damn good song it is too! "

I have a special place in my heart for folks who create their own music and that's case here as Bezzer (Dark Machine Pictures) enlists the help of the amazing Peaches Chrenko who belts out her version of "I killed my man" blues in a Blade Runner-esque world straight from Dark Machine brain.  Gotta add this song to my playlist.

"Fjun - Your Name" might very well hold the "Best Iclone Music Video" belt for a long while.  It has a distinct semi-cell shaded style, cute characters and a story pulling hard at your emotions (especially if you get emotional when you leave your cell phone at home).  However, the editing might be the star of the show with no shot seeming to last more than 2 seconds and each short clip alive with vibrant colors, sparkling particles, interesting backdrops and wonderful transitions between the scenes that pull everything together while whirling you round and round.   Here's the text book.  Class is in session.

One Minute by anold sch - "My view on the Corona-Pandemie .... even if we are isolated at home .... our spirit is still free"

As the name implies this is a 60 second ditty that's one part inspiration and 3 parts exhilaration.  Cool settings and smooth, clever transition effects fly by as anold lets his imagination loose on the unsuspecting Iclone software.  Definitely a change up from his previous zombie gore fest (the 3 part Zudberry mentioned previously) and a welcome short worth your brief time.

How about a Paul Keenan Double Feature...

Samaritan by Paul Keenan - "NSFW - MA (Contains Nudity) SF Animation created with iClone7 and Character Creator"

This dreamy and surreal scifi(?) has loads of moments floating through the ether on the way to a log-line that reads "bisexual vampire from mars seeks friends to watch classic movies."  Very cool music as well reminded me of tangerine dream.  This flick strangely (visually and content wise) reminded me of some of the great poetic MovieStorm flicks from years back.

The Consumer By Paul Keenan - "My first digital animated short"

An excellent mix of 20's silent films with 70's B movie schlock with some great dramatic camera angles to tie the room together.  Short and sassy like my grandma.

Time Slip Part 3 by MagicProjectFilm - "Dr. Seynour and Colonel Forsythe travel the dimensions and are stranded on board the Nostradamus spacecraft, but they are already expected."

After two fun, easy to follow episodes, this one takes a turn into space combat and confusing plot points.  The space combat and the special effects in general are very good with ships flying through wormholes (super cool!) and impressive ship interiors and laser armada fights and I often found myself wondering how the scenes were created.  However, I just couldn't understand the what and why of the episode which stands as a bit of a problem.  It could be that the reveal of what is going on will come later but it was a frustrating watch with little exposition to guide my way. Hopefully the story comes back around soon as I think this is a gifted filmmaker worth following.

The Trap by Rascagneres Paul - " I created this short movie in 3 weeks. The goal was to see if I could do it."

There's a lot to love here starting with the 5 minute story that wastes little time or excess frames to the crisp visuals, impressive character models and dark humor.  Voice overs were a touch flat but fitting of the Dekker-esque character.  Three weeks of work?!  My oh my.  The skills within the community continue to exceed my expectations.   Still, my thoughts on this one keeps coming back to a tightly wrapped little story that delivers big fun in a short time.

Hey Animagic, glad your enjoying the thread.  My time has been split between other things for the time being but soon I will be "Catching up on some Iclone Movies"....hehe.  I know the Heir to the Empire series has at least one chapter out I haven't seen yet.  I would also say that the Iclone TV channel seems to be headed in a different direction that doesn't highlight the average Iclone user making stories as well as it used too but more the expert user or the content highlights and the "look whose using iclone" type of videos but maybe I'm wrong.  Will have to look at this a bit more soon.  Are they being more selective in their choices?  While its fine for them to employ whatever strategy they find best fits their needs, I think that would be a shame as its hard to find a good selection of Iclone flicks by just searching youtube.

EDIT - Taking a look at the page tonight for the first time in a few weeks there seems to have been many Iclone videos released recently.  Perhaps I was just seeing a backlog or delay in new releases.

I would rather not sticky this thread as it is just largely my opinion and while I try to look at movies that impress me or have some interesting characteristic that made it worth watching (for me) I do tend to have a bit of a critical streak that may not meet RL's goals.

Good hearing from ya!
