As the subject line reads. I can't believe I did that. :pinch: Does anyone know how to recover deleted files or know where they are placed. I do have Recuva but I don't know where to point the search. Or do I have to painfully search my entire HD?

I believe items are actually deleted. They should really be sent to the Recycle Bin. Hopefully you can use something like Recuva. I have a daily backup program, so usually I can recover some of my work.

Thanks @animagic for getting back to me. That's such a bummer that files can go completely "poof" just like that. Luckily most of my files were from Daz so back to the transformer I go!!:w00t: I hope Reallusion could make some sort of way to send files to the recycle bin for retrieval in case of mistakes like mine.

yeah I learnt long ago if you delete anything in the iClone library it's gone forever unless you have a backup or use Recuva

@wendyluvscatz This was my first time doing so and hopefully the last. I do have Recuva and will probably do a deep scan of my C drive while I sleep just to give me peace of mind. And I WILL BACK UP my RL file starting now! :D

I use AOMEI Backupper and have it make daily backups. It is best to have some form of scheduled task, so you won't forget...

That software sounds very useful, in general. Have you had success with it for other situations in general? How deep does this go in terms of recovering?

@dante: I use it only for backing up various contents. I have not used it for system restore, only to get individual files. BTW, I use an external drive for this, so it's separated. Some people do incremental backups so they can go back in time, but I don't do that. I have another software called Macrium Reflect that I have used to make system drive images (which reminds me that I should do that again).

Oh ok I see. Yeah my method is that I used to have a daily backup (of my Reallusion custom folder, and some other personal folders) to a separate internal drive (which for some reason no longer triggers), but also a weekly backup to a cloud drive. I know a week is a long time, but I guess I'm banking on nothing ever happening, and in the event it does, well I won't lose absolutely everything.
