yeah, advanced locomotion system v4 is free
i'm a little behind so just catching up.
hopefully it will be user friendly with switching out avatars now..
this is what you need for one button ragdolling, reallistic movement breathing etc etc etc
how to switch out mannequin with your own avatar
(this is for those that want to film in realtime in game mode)
I actually was researching into this myself and I find that the CC3 avatar does not retarget these motions well:
1) certain animations don't retarget so it is not continuous like it is with the included mannequin.
2) the various modes can't be selected while using the CC3 avatar.
Now, the product itself does detail that it is almost more of a demo/proof of concept, so it gives some backdrop to creating your own mechanics.
But the one thing it also reveals is
3) the horrid physics set-up on the CC3 avatar as it comes in...super-cluttered with a lot of capsules and shapes for collision, causes the avatar to stretch and vibrate wildly.
As Bassline mentioned in the hair / clothing tut-video he posted, you really do need to create a new physics...
Unfortunately this entails removing and then adding in collision capsules, constraints, and then constraint thresholds....YUCK
I wonder if you can do this once and then save as a template to apply to other chaeracters
