How to fix the flickering in groom hair Unreal 4Turn on cast deep shadows on in the details panel of all light in your scene. Then lower the Deep Shadow Layer Distribution number a lot This doesn't work for me. I have flickering in Unreal on my character only when using motion live and live face. Only when cast shadows is activated with Ray tracing. Wish I can fix this looks bad without shaddows

oberdoofus (4/24/2022) @bassline many thanks! I imagine you got a pretty good rig but can I ask what was your FPS like when working with the MD stuff? I suppose doesn't matter so much if we are only doing animation as opposed to gamesFor Cinematic you can use the ruff files with pixel distance of 15-20, I get around 60-80fps. (depends what kind of cloth and how many polygons) Do you want to bind it to the character (copy/hammering skin weights) or simulate and add it as alembic? For building games you will need to retopo. I was hoping to simulate and add the MD clothing as alembic for specific "money shot" situations e.g. wind blowing clothing. Otherwise possibly use uDraper to 'bind' for the realtime physics - when it is more appropriate to do so? From what i understand uDraper doesn't respond to UE wind - but apparently they are working on it.

This is a video I created. Don't take it seriously, just have fun. Software used - CC3, iClone, UE 4.26. The video was created in two weeks!
Hi nikofilm, very very well done👍 Greetings Robert

WOW , great MusicVideo rendered in UE4.27 with path tracing , all the soft cloth physics were done in 3dsmax and Marvelous Designer imported as ABC.

Hi guys I need help on a project and have a question about clothing and wanted your opinions! From what I have read / seen a combination of Marvelous Designer, uDraper (for realtime cloth physics) might work well? I was thinking that anything that does not look good using uDraper we could instead use MD for bespoke baked cloth animation. Does anyone have any alternative recommendations? Or warnings about either software and their use with Unreal? Thanks for any help! @Bassline: In your previous examples do you retopo your MD cloth before animating in Unreal (I've read that the auto-retopo in MD may not be good enough for animation - was wondering whether this is true in your experience?)
No, I didn't retopo , I used the ruff files ... worked fine for me.
