singularity3100 (4/27/2021) Hello! I am complete new here, and I would like to get my MH working with prerecorded face animation in Iclone. I usually export animation for Character Creator characters via motion plus file, the pipeline is make face animation in Iclone, save as motion plus file, then export from CC3 my character with the file motion plus. In UR it unpacks like one animation file (if I have body and face animation, it still unpacks as one file, and results are pretty good) I just apply that in sequencer as animation track and everything works perfect.
But how get that working for Metahuman? If I export animation for the face as fbx file, it doesn’t give me the option to apply to MH face directly. What would be a solution , maybe through simulation live link, but instead of iPhone input put directly somehow the animation file (as a source in live link blueprint?)
Please help, I can’t find any tutorial and Google completely fails, too
You do not go direct from iClone animation to MH, it can only go through LiveLink yet. But, here is a tutorial, earlier provided by Bassline! (He showed pages back in this thread.)

Oh , yes , the files you need are in the description of Tutorial 01.
If you would like to use the "New Meta Humans (Quixel Bridge) " , you have to do this : (Make a new Project)

@Tony , I guess I have found a way how to import only Iclone facial animations via FBX.
Now it should be possible to 1. import the body animations and 2. the face animation , separately. Here I am showing how to import a facial animation only , without bones and what to do in the Anim BP , it will work for all MHs. So if you import your body animation the normal way and retarget the IClone Character bones to the MH Skeleton , it should work ... Charly did it already. Please test it ... if it works for you too , that would be cool !
Important ! You have to add the "Pose Assets" from the 01 Tutorial to the "Source Pose" in the Anim BP (see 01 Tutorial for the files and 03 Tutorial for retarget) (above)
P.s. This Tutorial is complicated , I will do a new one tomorrow with all involved ( IClone body animation import and Pose assets retarget)

Great! I will test. To me this looks better than all the iPhone-direct and faceware stuff. The character speaking looks right out of GTA! **Awesome**

Yes it works :D 1. Imported Facials via FBX 2. Imported Body Animation via FBX
Importing took only seconds.
- with "Root Motion" and full "ControlRig" compatible.
