Live-Link - 05

Here is my way to use Live-Link , I want my own Cam.
Live-Link records with "Force Root Lock" , this we have to untick, because we need a moving root to use the recorded animations for other characters... 
If you let it ticked , your Character will always stay at the same location , you can see the feet sliding in the Video.

So I save the Camera Animation and use it with my own Cam , you only have to match the Focal Length with that you have used in IClone.
Character Animation is already saved while recording. (AAAA5)



OOPS, I have forgotten to "Zero out" the Character , then you have the perfect Camera match.

This is just a tip-
If you start making progress and spent time in a project, backup your Unreal Project.  While closed, just straight copy the entire Windows folder it is in, producing a whole copy of the project and all its components. 
(ie - copy/paste folder "Project_1" to create folder "Project_1 - Copy")
You can rename the master folder to whatever you want, ie - rename folder "Project_1 - Copy" to "Project_1B".
BUT!!!!
leave all the contents , including the project file, the same.  Don't rename those, as it will mess up dependencies.

But now you can work on a copy (ie contents in folder "Project_1B".)...
And, if something goes wrong, and you can't undo and retrieve a good state, you can scrap it and copy the original project folder again (ie  -copy folder "Project_1" to folder "Project_1C") and work with a new copy project (in folder "Project_1C") that was saved at a good state again.

Hey Bassline, with animations on a timeline going from iClone to Unreal, it's pretty much all or none, right? 
I'm thinking you can't record a walk animation and export it to Unreal from iClone as part of an FBX, and then separately via LiveLink map only a facial animation on top of that avatar walking animation now in Unreal, right?
(Like, you have to record everything all at once in an exported FBX motion from iClone to Unreal, or via a LiveLink cast to Unreal)

right , all or nothing...as far as I know , but I never tried it, maybe there is a way to add facials to an animated Character. (layers)

That seems a very good way to add wind especially with the visual arrows etc.
Also, what are the floor and background,? is it a picture or a scene prop you have.
Great tips man, keep them coming when you see fit.
