I'm glad that this really seems to be the solution.

And I'm glad i don't have a weird issue with my iClone, as Mike could make Floyd work and Bob found nothing.
As Bob has my project now, he surely would have seen this.

@ Mike or anyone else
By the way, how do i create bumps if there are no, i mean they have a function, character would look even better, isn't it?
CC3 seems not to create them with Transformer...
At least Imrae (the "white" girl in Black) went through "Advanced + Bake Body Textures 4096"

I've just got your file. I'm heading off to bed in a moment and I'll check it in the morning.
I've not had that issue (plenty of others while developing this though). What I suggest is this:
Load a RL CC3 avatar into Character Creator 3 (male or female, or both one after the other and do the following.
1. Go to the Material tab and select the Normal map icon for the head (of each avatar)and save it/them to your hard drive.
2. When you load avatars that have a green normal map icon, just load in the saved Normal map texture. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

As for the Daz characters not having bump maps I'd suggest that using the method above will fix them (male or female) and/or using AgeGen substance to give them some mild features.
Hope this has helped
Bob

Go to bed :P
For the moment everything works, no big deal to pull down that strength slider to 0...

Floyd has bump maps, so I'm not sure why they didn't come across for you -- Transformer DOES correctly bring them (although I'll check again -- I did him early on and perhaps a "fix" to CC3 broke something.  I just woke up but give me a moment).

And Colonel -- Floyd is a Daz character, one of my favs.  Nowadays just about everything I do at least starts with a Daz avatar.

AND really, really great to hear about the baldness stubble -- as others have noted, this will be useful no matter what, as it does fill in the gaps (so you might have created a truly indispensable product).  Heck, this might be something you want to expand even further with all sorts of body hair possibilities (chest hair, arm and leg hair are the ones that immediately would be useful for most).

Yep, just tried both versions of Floyd myself and you're right, no bump maps (HD figures WILL come in but with no further level of detail than the regular ones).

Something happened along the way here -- either something changed in CC3 (I hope not) or I was using my advanced techniques to generate the materials maps (remember, most of the mapping in CC3 comes from my Python routines but they were altered in many ways, plus I was always working to improve them on my end.  Somewhere along the line I stopped using mine since the results were so similar).

I'll make sure my routines still work with this and if so I'll alert the dev.  In the meantime you CAN use my routines or just fill in the file yourself on import (ALL Daz figures other than toon ones have bump maps.  I don't know in the thousands I have I have seen one without them.  You do NOT want an avatar without a bump map).

Where's the comparison?  If you don't show me with the bump you have no basis to say what you like (you can't use mine as I alter things quite a bit).

No, you need bump maps on ALL your avatars unless they are smooth, shapeless toons.  And it looks now that Transformer is broken in this regard.  It works fine using my routines, but those are a PITA to use.  But it doesn't bring in ANY bump maps (at least normals) that I can see.

Oh -- I SEE what you did.  You didn't just try loading the normal map into CC3 did you?  You can't do that -- the mapping is all wrong.  It MUST be put in while the Transformer is in effect, to remap the UV.  That's why you need my programming (so I assume you didn't use my Python routine, either).

Let me repeat that so folks new to CC3 understand -- you can't just drag and drop maps into the materials of CC3, as the ones from Daz haven't got the same UV mapping as CC3. That is, indeed, one of the main things Transformer does (the other being the remapping of the verts).  The only way to get this stuff in right is to edit the ini file BEFORE you run Transformer.

The first pick is a gif, changes from no bump to bump...
And, well, of course i loaded the map.
Did not know that would be incorrect
Whatever, too much effort...
I'm satisfied ;)

toystorylab, glad you have sorted that out. I checked the project file and yep it was as I suspected; no bump map. If the problem persists I can build in a male and female bump map option from the stock CC3 characters.

In the meantime I'm going to finish the CC3 AgeGen Module as I can see by what you guys are doing with CC3 avatars the AgeGen module may be of use.

There's not many Cc1 or Cc3 characters that pass through my computer that don't get a makeover... Floyd is no exception... Here he is after  Character Creator 3 cosmetic surgery and CC3 AgeGen treatment in iClone 7... Oh and he accidentally stood in front of my shrinking ray...
