morelia.frank (11/30/2018) I am confused about this point as well. Is the Pipeline version compatible with all programs that import and export PSD or only Photoshop? For example, will the templates work with Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo, both which handle PSD files.Affinity Photo and Designer should work fine with the PSD templates just as they do now with CTA3 Pipeline.

richinri (11/30/2018) I have CTA 3 Pro. It appears I can upgrade to Pipeline and purchase an animation pack (G3 Power Tools Vol 1) for $279 and get Version 4. Is this correct?Yes if you purchase a qualifying CrazyTalk Animator 3 Pipeline Bundle then you will be entitled to a free upgrade to Cartoon Animator 4.

So the best thing to do is contact Customer Support and request a refund. Then purchase again and you will qualify for a free copy of Cartoon Animator 4 Pipeline. :)

No, not correct per the deal offered on the website ... If you already have CTA3, you have to purchase $299 worth of content between December 1 (tomorrow) and December 31 to automatically qualify for a free upgrade to Cartoon Animator 4.

RE: Cartoon Animator 4 (vs. CTA 3) - It is always amazing to me how software companies / developers will literally stand on their head to recruit NEW customers and virtually give away NEW product, but for those of us who have supported Reallusion for many MANY! years - we get crumbs.
While this may seem like "sour grapes" or software envy it really isn't, BUT it does leave one to ponder why is it those who have been the consumer backbone of companies like Reallusion with loyalty, promotion >> of product to both clients and artists alike, just to be in essence "taken for granted" for that support.
I have no issue with Reallusion placing a "price" on a worthy upgrade - but it should be evenly distributed across the board. For example, I have invested time and MONEY in supporting and touting the merits of Reallusion products. I have purchased their applications, their after market content, as well as to offer personal and professional examples of the product's potential and use, along with constructive commentary in an effort to "make an improved" specialty product (Reallusion software). I dare say, to the point of collectively spending considerably more (over time) than what the NEW customer has to spend to "qualify" for the free Animator update / product (vers. 4).
I felt slighted when Reallusion offered Motion (facial) capture albeit with a caveat >> in that it will only work with an iPhone - anyone with an Android product was left on an island. Now as improved as Reallusion products have evolved, "GIFTS" are being showered on all NEW comers, but the rest of the "community" is in essence, being told, "oh, I'm sorry - this promotion doesn't apply to you.
In reading some of the comments tonight - I think it is rather callous of Reallusion to MAKE someone who supposedly missed an artificial "start date" by a day or two have to jump through hoops to qualify for the Cartoon Animator 4 give-a-way. Internally, Reallusion knew what was coming and when the announcement was going to "drop". Just a little forethought would have minimized the confusion and alienation being felt by these NEW customers to the Reallusion product line.
AND one last thought - If Reallusion already has a firm price (and advertised) on the new version I am almost certain, they have a pretty good idea what the upgrade price model will be as well - even at this stage of development. Reallusion products are impressive and technically sound - however their "people skills" need some work. Just Sayin'...
Oh... Something else to consider - all of these so-called "features" as seen in the teaser preview video - can I assume then that while "technically" CTA 3 (pipeline) works, when compared to the new "Version 4", CTA 3 is at best, an out-dated and inferior product and what we thought (and promoted by Reallusion) as "cutting edge" technology, was in reality, just an interim solution - a stop gap measure, perhaps a "BETA" version; while the "kinks" were being worked out in this "Version 4 update". And how clever of Reallusion to give the core product a NEW name to justify the perception of a NEW product, versus one that has been "fixed" and void of major technical issues, as experienced by many loyal end-users.

Really looking forward to the new CTA4. Hopefully the developers will take the opportunity to introduce a 'dark mode' option for the UI, now becoming more common and particularly important with large hi-res screens where a light coloured UI can be very glaring.
