Hi, I want to do an animation where some of the props are wireframe. Looks like it is defaulting to white for this -- does anyone know how to change the wireframe color? Thanks...

you can use the fog in certain circumstaces set near 1 and far 20 or so
this example shows it gradient to red. near:20 - far:1000

Kipster, thanks for the reply. I'm afraid this would make everything past a certain 'depth' red (in this case). Apparently it is not possible to change the wireframe color -- any experts out there to disprove this?

you could make this work a few different ways without any external app but, lets see if the "experts" you speak of can answer this...

I am no expert :). But first what comes to mind is to make an opacity map out of UV map. And then simply use any diffuse color. Here is an iClone ball with opacity map made from iClone base UV map (512x512). For more precision/resolution it can be up-scaled and tweaked in Photoshop or similar... 77% of original size (was 654x19) - Click to enlarge and here's one with customized for better resolution opacity map: 77% of original size (was 654x19) - Click to enlarge
