toystorylab (7/11/2017) Thanx... A lot to learn... Looks like my weekends won't be boring anymore :crazy:Indeed, it's a lot to learn. ...just for the record.....BRAVO! You got guts.... most won't even attempt this. Again.... I know your not interested in creating.... but once your gain modeling "tool" experience.... You learn quick ways to fix any mesh. 1. Snap vertices to an existing mesh. 2. Drag multiple "Segments / Edges" = duplicates 3. Weld the joining vertices FACT: Quads that get triangulated "Decimate" beautifully. GO toystorylab!

toystroylab, Most of Daz content... I don't bother fixing the mesh the conventional way. Modeling Made Easy:"Quickly create low to medium resolution models." Draw lines on any mesh.... and finish much faster. Simply create half... hit symmetry.. done. I know you don't care to create.... Trust Me.... It's 10 times faster to draw a few "edge loops".... duplicate them.... hit symmetry... done.

toystorylab (7/10/2017) It is not that easy if you have no idea how to do it. Easy to follow video-tutorials on these toppics would have been cool, but i can't find some. All decimators: Step by step. "Select the mesh, set a value, decimate." _________________________________________________________________________ Simplygon video. 1. Select the mesh 2. Click the Reduce tab 3. Set a value 4.Decimate That's it. If you set a small value and do not get good results.... No decimator can fix a poorly modeled character. So i am willing to try your suggestions. To achieve my goal (how to convert triangles into perfect quads :satisfied:) and to get a better understanding of 3D I will dive into Blender... It will take a while, but i have vacations in August  Focus at the (2 min. 20 sec.) mark. Note: poorly modeled characters do NOT convert triangles to quads.... "As you'd expect." The tool's algorithm must guess.
You can do it.

The Goal:
..to decimate/remesh ...reduce Draw calls Keep in mind, i don't want to build stuff from scratch (!) This sounds like you are considering "fixing daz mesh's." If this is not correct... say so and I'll immediately stop posting. Cloth: You do not need to build anything from scratch. (But you must learn how to convert triangles into perfect quads)
If this is not part of your goal (Learning Blender tools to create quads)... Tell me now and I will stop posting. __________________________________________________________________________________________
If this is something you care to do.... You need modeling tool practice. Practice "Box Modeling" in Blender.
"Inserting segments / move vertices." 1. Create a box. 2. Insert segments. 3. Create "Diamond" shaped quads. Use the "Cut" tool and split a few quads into triangles. "These triangles will decimate beautifully." Use what you learned in "Box Modeling" and repair the Cloth. Fix the problem area(s). Fast way: (Remesh) ______________________________________________________________________________________ You mentioned reducing "Draw Calls." If you talking about making "Game Content"... you really need to focus on repairing the mesh. Game engines are far more "Unforgiving".... too many draw calls.... Crash! I have no Blender experience at all... Is there a Video-Tutorial HOW TO DO this with Blender: There are many Blender tuts available. Start a the very beginning... Navigating the viewport Transform tools... move, scale, rotate. Do a few "Box Modeling" Blender tutorials. Now your ready to Fix Daz's cloth. Okay... Actually i want to animate cool Characters in nice looking environments with iClone, not create :D I found nice Characters and Environments at DAZ, and i hoped it would be easy with decimator + texture atlas to make them less "heavy" to animate in "real-time"... It is not that easy if you have no idea how to do it. After that I thought Simplygon would be the solution... It is not that easy if you have no idea how to do it. but0fc0ursee (7/9/2017) Not interested in fixing the mesh... Sorry, no further interruptions from me. Good LuckI have no Blender experience at all... Is there a Video-Tutorial HOW TO DO this with Blender: "You've got to fix Daz mesh's. There is no way around it. Use something like Blender and make quads. Move the vertices..... otherwise your playing Russian roulette. Crank up the resolution enough and anything will look good. Learn how to create "Low Poly Proxies" and speed it up with "SkinWrap."

toystorylab (7/9/2017) After further abstract suggestions for Rookies from Pros like SwooP/bOc I still hope someone is able/willing to help...
Keep in mind, i don't want to build stuff from scratch (!), The Goal is to decimate/remesh OR/AND reduce Draw Calls (Material/Texture) existing meshes (Prop and Character, mostly DAZ) :exclamation:Not interested in fixing the mesh... Sorry, no further interruptions from me. Good Luck
