How to use the texture channels to create a perfect glass?
Hello iClone Users,
I'd like to know, the best way to use the texture channels to create a perfect glass texture for bottles. For different shapes of bottles. A good whisky, or a good Tequila will get your attention with a nice bottle shape. I think for a different shape is a different texture channel setting necessary to create a realistic glass look. I'm looking forward for your answers. Have a nice week. Greetings from germany. Netjerichet

I'm sure others have a better solution, but you can dial down the Opacity and play with Specular and Gloss settings to achieve a glass effect. After that, I think its a matter of lighting and scene setup.

iClone comes with a few default glass materials, just apply one of them to an object and then you can adjust the various settings to get the look that you want.

I've found that adding some self-illumination helps the illusion as well.

... Realizing, of course, that the iClone renderer will never make a "perfect" glass since it's not a photorealistic renderer.
However, it can make stuff that renders quickly and looks good enough to tell a great story,.
