How to use the texture channels to create a perfect glass?

I'd like to know, the best way to use the texture channels to create a perfect glass texture for bottles. For different shapes of bottles. A good whisky, or a good Tequila will get your attention with a nice bottle shape. I think for a different shape is a different texture channel setting necessary to create a realistic glass look.
