playing with the substance textures on strand hair now , o boy! super responsive! :w00t: not only can i change the shape with the displacement, each new uv type i add to it, makes another extreme change!! Much to invent here!! :w00t: Note - strand hair is particle hair converted to polygons. and the model below is a mess, just a quick test to see how the strand hair reacted to the substance textures ...It's Alive!! :D

i'm thinking the godfather model can be made with a g3-5 and sculptris face mods - along with a good displacement map on the face to create the wrinkles ...RL sells a nice wedding suit that would work perfect for the clothes! the abe hair ...I'm thinking I'll be able to emulate with my strand hair experiment and substance textures! :w00t: - the bad thing with strand hair is that it doesn't get along with the soft cloth engine, but for stagnant type hair ....i can add bones and springs for motion, and substance textures for bumps and displacements ..so that should be a fun experiment !! if it works, I can make beards like whoa! :w00t: for the final fantasy look, a modded version of Reallusions Anime hair would be perfect! the rest is textures and lighting in indigo! that goblin mechanic - looks like something I'd have to make using alchemy! lol sick model! maybe you can use the jimmy toon as a base to build something like that from!

planetstardragon (3/11/2015) happy to see you open up , you have nice ideas :)
I've been researching to make clothing like that for characters, I enjoy cultural Asian type clothing, from both india, and china.I would love to see GENUINE Indian Subcontinent / Asian costumes on the ICLONE store. I hope talents like Bigboss and others take interest.

planetstardragon (3/11/2015) @prabbat - i really like that character :) - that's one thing I'm trying to learn now , how to wrap the cloth around a character. I've seen different techniques, like the one in the video i posted on this thread ....then there's modeling with softcloth physics - which seems simple and easy enough, but actually harder to do in practice - since you have no way to actually control how the physics drapes it.
you should also check out a post dragonskunk made a while back, he came up with an nice method of giving cartoon edges through the character mesh / textures, that might appeal to you...he was looking for a similar toon shading look you are.You can see how it's truly draped around the character with a single piece. [ BTW she is the Logistic and Communication Expert in my Spy series. She flies helicopters on a mission and rescues her team mates. Speed thrills her. Otherwise she woks as an office assistant in an export firm and loves cooking. ] You can also create a costume for a monk in this method.
