Hi, as a new user to iClone4.3 PRO I am interested in obtaining 3D exchange4, but cannot find it anywhere. I believe that 3D exchange 5 in not compatable with iClone4. Can anyone help with this please?

Only Reallusion Current Program Versions are available for Download.

IMO, 3DXChange 5.5 (Current Version) isn't Compatible with iC4.3 because it has a number of New Features over 3DXChange 4.3. Eg; you can Launch Avatars Into 3DXChange 5.5 directly from iC5.5 (Current Version) & back again, for Modification etc.

Your best bet would be to look at what's new in both Programs. 

I'm afraid it's another of Reallusion's expensive "Gotchas". Quite a few complaints about it.

The above being said, I find 3DXChange a "must have" Tool for my Particular Workflow. It's probably paid for itself with the amount of Free Google 3D Warehouse Content I've Downloaded.

iC6 might be in the very early stages of Development. I'd wait until that's announced at which time you might be able to Upgrade to iC5 & get iC6 Free when it's released. That's what's happened in the past.

I'm disappointed that 3D exchange 4 is unavailable. I would say your term 'Gotcha' is very apt, this doesn't endear me to 'reallusion'. For the time being I'll just have to do what I can as it stands. I now have no trust for Reallusion products and it's unlikely that I would purchase from them in the future.

Well........................I've Googled; Reallusion 3DXChange 4.31, where you'll see there are a selection of "Unofficial" Downloads.

What you do isn't recommended by me & you do-so at your own risk.

I really don't understand your disappointment. iClone 5 has been on the market for 2 years, and 3DXchange 5 has been available for over 18 months.

Can you mention one company that stills offers "old" software after investing a large amount of money in R&D for a new version?

Whatever companies do or don't do doesn't necessarilly make it right. Perhaps those of us who have iClone4, and are happy with it, don't want to pay for an upgrade at this time. Tell me why I should, rather than have to, and then I may agree with you.

Continuing to have some older, perhaps 'integral' software available should be no problem and shows respect for their customers.

Reallusion is not a gigantic company and making older versions available also implies an obligation of support, which may not be feasible. I have to disagree with the "gotcha" statement, implying ill-will on the part of Reallusion.

Thanks for all the info sw00000p, at this time, I would be happy to just import things from 3D Warehouse. I hope that 3DXchange4 standard would be okay for this. Once I become more confident I shall 'branch out', and yes, will eventually move on to iClone5.
