I agree with getting a refund.

Did you check the Marketplace: http://city.reallusion.com/marketplace.aspx? Many options there as well and you can often buy individual pieces. One thing to be aware of is that many of these require certain base content, but that is clearly indicated.

If you plan to do a lot with clothing, it may be useful to look into getting iClone 5 CloneCloth. Items of clothing are often based on CloneCloth. However, if you have iClone 6, you may want to wait with investing too much at this time as new options for clothing will be coming, I believe. That said, G5 characters work fine in iClone 6 and there are more clothing options available for them

I've already created G5 characters, and have no interest in G3 characters. There's definitely a big difference in quality.

You could try using G3 Characters & swapping their heads with G5 Character  heads. You can use Character Body Proportions Tool, to match those of your G5 Characters. I've done it many times. See Screenshot. Chuck G5 Head on Trey G3 Body. Chuck's head is bald. So, https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/f8e8e91c-bf86-48ac-8430-7fcd.jpg applied Chuck's hair. Only a rough scaling & positioning in Pic.

Otherwise; it's get a refund  for G3 clothing pack & purchse G5 Clothing.

I bought the G3 collection believing I could use it on my G5 characters. I need my money back, or I need direction on how to make these clothes work. What is the real difference between G5 characters and G3 characters anyway? Is there a quality jump I'm assuming?

You can't exchange Character Clothing between different Character Versions.

I think there's  a Bonus Download of G3 Characters. Your A/C / History / iC5 / Bonus & Upgrade, or whatever. If yes - Use those G3 Characters, then you can use your G3 clothing collection.

I found these, which are not bad:
http://www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/csproduct.aspx?contentid=AIC500DIENU012020120327001

I need a open flannel shirt, and a suit where the jacket comes off separately, and the tie can be animated.

Are these possible? Thank you in advance!

It's 4 years later, and I just now got into iClone, with iClone 6. Clothing is a huge aspect of creating a character, and I am having trouble finding clothing for G5 characters. I can't find these suits you are showing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I need to move forward on this movie, and right now, clothes are holding me back in a big way.

Again, any help or direction would be greatly appreciated!

rampart, thanks for your interest!

The faces are all done using the built-in face mapping of iClone 5. The woman's head is actually available as freebie in my store (Carla G5 at http://city.reallusion.com/store/animagic).

The face mapping procedure hasn't changed much in iClone, and there is a video tutorial somewhere. But I'll tell you what I do.

To design a face, I start out with the highest resolution image I can find of a front view, even though the final resolution will often be lower. The two gentlemen are politicians, so there were plenty of photos, but being politicians, they usually smile. This is a problem. So I had to edit the image to close the mouth.

I then import the image into iClone's face mapping tool. It would be nice if RL would make the window a bit bigger, but there is the zoom option.

In the tool you first crop the photo: above the hair line, outside left and right ears, below the chin.

Next you fit the outline of the head to the photo. First select Male or Female as appropriate, and then resize and reshape the outline so that the eyes and the mouth fit as best as possible. The outline will usually extend above the hair line; this is OK (the hair is actually in the way, so you could try and create a bold head in your graphics program first).

In the next step you will reorient the head to get the best line-up with the photo. This will not be perfect yet, as the mouth may not be quite horizontal.

Next you do your detailed mapping of various parts of the face. First you can use the mirror option the get the main adjustments right, then you can work on details such as the eyes. Here zooming in is very useful. If you have a side view that shows the ear, you can use that to further refine the head. But it is no absolute neccesity.

You're done. iClone will ask you to save the head.

At this point there are various ways to further refine your head; for example by using the head shape tools or by clicking the Detail button which opens a window where you can do even further adjustments. I use that often the better close the mouth or to reshape the eyes.

I'll also go back to the original photo to see if the overal shape and proportions are reasonable. Especially note assymetries (also when mapping a face). Most faces, even pretty ones, are not completely symmetric.

The resolution of the face textures has improved in iClone 5, but for higher resolution textures an external program need to be used. I don't have that so I make do. In some cases, you can improve parts of the face texture in a graphics editor by making use of the original photo.

I hope this helps.

RE: Post #104953

Do you know where to find information to create faces like that. They are very realistic.

I found the Apparition G5 apparel, and it looks good.

(Different from "Chuck"--who always reminds me of a lone Colorado gun-nut.)

Chuck just shed a tear when he saw that comment. Harsh. :D

Thanks, Jason. Hmm, sound like a wild school, indeed. I live in the Washington DC area and on the surface everything looks very proper... :ermm:

My wife is a teacher and I once did an animation in Poser of a children's story. I was faced with a similar challenge to make the women look sufficienly modest as it had to be appropriate for young children.
