Peter, I wanted to revisit this topic after viewing your answer in another thread for the whole wonky foot thing. I want to ask, what defines a character being in a front pose versus a side pose? See, let's look at one of the characters from the Cartoon Solutions pack. See Aaron.png Notice his feet? They're pointing in the same direction, which to me indicates he's facing towards the side. Which would kinda make him a side view (3/4 view) character. And yet if I apply a side walking motion, his left foot goes all wonky. And yet if I apply a front walk to him, his left leg is very, very oddly positioned. See Aaron2.png. That's his leg at the highest point in the walk cycle, and Aaron3.png his at the lowest point in the walk cycle. While those images may not truly demonstrate the awkwardness of the walk, the attached ZIp file (Aaron.zip) is a SWF exported of the walk. It's a truly odd walk. So these Cartoon Solutions characters, are they front facing or side facing? And what is the best way to use them then? Hi wizaerd The standard setup for a character in CTA is to have three feet sprites. These are default, front, and side. Normally for front facing characters they will have 2 front facing feet sprites and one side sprite. The default being front facing. Now the Cartoon Solutions characters like Aaron are different because the they have two side feet sprites and one front. The default being a side facing foot. So while most characters are clearly either front or side, the original design of the Cartoon Solutions means when converted to CTA they are a hyrid of front and side.

wizaerd (9/25/2011) Every character from this pack, after applying the side walking animation, their left foot freaks out, and twists about aka Twisty Foot Syndrome. First screenshot are characters standard poses, and the second is after applying the side walk animation.Hi wizaerd Because the Cartoon Solutions characters come with a separate side facing character, the front facing version doesn't come with side facing sprites for the feet. The best you can do if you really want to use the front facing character sideways is take the them into Composer and manually position the the right foot sprite to the left foot. This will have them facing in the correct direction but obviously with two right feet. Another alternative is to add your own custom feet sprites to improve realism. Yeah, that;s something I've never really liked about the Cartoon SOlutions characters is that they're considered front facing, but are in reality 3/4 view side positions. I've tried swapping the feet out with little luck. I guess I'll keep trying different things. Using creative camera angles perhaps it's best to just hide the feet from the shots. kenmead (10/18/2011) Are the characters available as demo downloads (with watermarked backgrounds)? I have purchased several Cartoon Solutions Character packs for Anime Studio Pro and really like their work. But, I'd like to test their CTA versions before purchasing them. In particular, I'm interested in seeing how the lip sync works with these characters. The lip sync I use for Anime Studio Pro comes from a secondary program called Papagayo which provides 10 very accurate mouth positions. I noticed that the CTA versions provide 5 mouth positions, but CTA handles lip sync in a different way than ASP. So I'm wondering how the CTA version will compare. I'm also wanting to test the "front" facing Cartoon Solutions characters with the "front" CTA animation motions to see how they work. And, I'd like to do this BEFORE paying $13. However, I didn't see a "demo" download link for any of their characters. Is a demo download available?Hi.. The Cartoon Solutions characters are currently only available in the Content Store so no trial version is available I'm afraid. If you have previous experience of the Cartoon Solutions products then you will find they look and work just as well in CrazyTalk Animator. :)

When looking at the "demo" pictures of the characters in the content store, only the heads and arms are shown. Do you also get the bodies with the characters or does one have to create or borrow a body from another character???
