This is pretty nice Peter, thanx. Although, truth be told, I would've picked 7 different characters than these, but it's a first step...

Is there a tutorial for making the side and back facing/walking characters? If these characters are purchased ,will they include the animations also? Thanks Tim

My guess is you don't "make" the front or side view characters, you purchase them, then after they're installed, you drag and drop them to your stage to use them. No tutorial needed. And I also highly doubt there's any animations included since there's no mention of any. But you animate them just as you would any other CTA character.

I have had a problem with Cartoon Solutions: I bought the Character "Dave", and downloaded it only to find out it was content: head gear instead of "Dave". I'm waiting to here back from support. Hank

I'm sure you'll get it. I had a little experience with CS and found them to be very responsive.
I'm very pleased to see CS come on board as a vendor. I've personally lobbied both Reallusion and Cartoon Solutions to collaborate with each other, and this makes me feel that I recognized a good move! :)

Well, for the sake of honesty, I guess the irony is that I'm not really fond of CS's character style, which I find rather bland and overly cute-sey--but that's just my personal taste.
Still, their work is very professional and "well-engineered," if you will.
It seems to me the ideal fate for the CS characters, as they exist now, would be as a plain foundation upon which a designer could add his own style.
Which characters do you want to see ported? Beg, beg, beg--the squeaky wheel in Real-land gets excellent service!

I like Abby, Alan, Amanda, Calvin, Carl, Carmen, Dana, Denise, Douglas, Hank, Harold, Helen, Herbert, Jamal, Jethro, Joe the CEO, Katie, Kevin, Lee, Monique, Ninja, Officer Malone, Rachel, Rico, and Samantha... I had thought of getting them in either Flash or Photoshop format, but exporting the individual pieces and re-importing and re-assembling them in CTA (re-position, re-scale, re-rotate, etc...) is the thing I don't want to do. I have some of their characters already, but it's still such a tedious PITA to do all that. I know it sounds lazy, and perhaps it is, but it is what it is...

It's good to see some new characters, and those who want to make adverts for products will no doubt find them useful. But I have to say that I'm not keen on the look of anything much in this collection, apart from maybe three peices. It's generally too "U.S. clip-art" for me.
Still waiting for the rigged monsters and robots.

When looking at the "demo" pictures of the characters in the content store, only the heads and arms are shown. Do you also get the bodies with the characters or does one have to create or borrow a body from another character???

They are complete bodies.

Every character from this pack, after applying the side walking animation, their left foot freaks out, and twists about aka Twisty Foot Syndrome. First screenshot are characters standard poses, and the second is after applying the side walk animation.

The best you can do if you really want to use the front facing character sideways is take the them into Composer and manually position the the right foot sprite to the left foot. This will have them facing in the correct direction but obviously with two right feet. Another alternative is to add your own custom feet sprites to improve realism.

Yeah, that;s something I've never really liked about the Cartoon SOlutions characters is that they're considered front facing, but are in reality 3/4 view side positions. I've tried swapping the feet out with little luck. I guess I'll keep trying different things. Using creative camera angles perhaps it's best to just hide the feet from the shots.

Are the characters available as demo downloads (with watermarked backgrounds)? I have purchased several Cartoon Solutions Character packs for Anime Studio Pro and really like their work. But, I'd like to test their CTA versions before purchasing them. In particular, I'm interested in seeing how the lip sync works with these characters. The lip sync I use for Anime Studio Pro comes from a secondary program called Papagayo which provides 10 very accurate mouth positions. I noticed that the CTA versions provide 5 mouth positions, but CTA handles lip sync in a different way than ASP. So I'm wondering how the CTA version will compare. I'm also wanting to test the "front" facing Cartoon Solutions characters with the "front" CTA animation motions to see how they work. And, I'd like to do this BEFORE paying $13. However, I didn't see a "demo" download link for any of their characters. Is a demo download available?

The Cartoon Solutions characters are currently only available in the Content Store so no trial version is available I'm afraid. If you have previous experience of the Cartoon Solutions products then you will find they look and work just as well in CrazyTalk Animator. :)

Peter, I wanted to revisit this topic after viewing your answer in another thread for the whole wonky foot thing. I want to ask, what defines a character being in a front pose versus a side pose? See, let's look at one of the characters from the Cartoon Solutions pack. See Aaron.png Notice his feet? They're pointing in the same direction, which to me indicates he's facing towards the side. Which would kinda make him a side view (3/4 view) character. And yet if I apply a side walking motion, his left foot goes all wonky. And yet if I apply a front walk to him, his left leg is very, very oddly positioned. See Aaron2.png. That's his leg at the highest point in the walk cycle, and Aaron3.png his at the lowest point in the walk cycle. While those images may not truly demonstrate the awkwardness of the walk, the attached ZIp file (Aaron.zip) is a SWF exported of the walk. It's a truly odd walk. So these Cartoon Solutions characters, are they front facing or side facing? And what is the best way to use them then?

So these Cartoon Solutions characters, are they front facing or side facing? And what is the best way to use them then? Hi wizaerd The standard setup for a character in CTA is to have three feet sprites. These are default, front, and side. Normally for front facing characters they will have 2 front facing feet sprites and one side sprite. The default being front facing. Now the Cartoon Solutions characters like Aaron are different because the they have two side feet sprites and one front. The default being a side facing foot. So while most characters are clearly either front or side, the original design of the Cartoon Solutions means when converted to CTA they are a hyrid of front and side.
