cmaseattle (2/22/2013) We have an issue running it through Parallels. The error message says it CTA initialization failed. We haven't heard back from support yet.
We meet the system requirements and have run all the updates we could on this fresh install (Windows7, CTA 1.2, Parallels 8).
Computer is a recent MacPro 2xQuad 3Ghz ATI Radeon X1900 512VRAM 9GB RAM OS X 10.6.8
Any thoughts ?The ATI Radeon X1900 is quite an old graphic card and is not on our recommended list of graphics cards for CTA. Then on top of this you are using virtual machine software so that only exacerbates the situation when it comes to graphics problems. http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/animator/animator_requirements.aspx Hopefully support will be able to advise you further but the graphic card is likely the problem here.

s.vrancken (11/19/2012) I love Crazy Talk Animator an iClone, but I work with Mac. Can I use also VirtualBox VM or just Parallels and VMWare?Only Parallels and VMware have been tested with CrazyTalk Animator. iClone5 does not support virtual machine software at all.

One of the posts you reference is from 2008 so the situation is different now to what it was then. The other is from another forum user and not an official statement from Reallusion. To the best of my knowledge Mac support is still planned for future editions. :)

unique (1/28/2012) I read in another posting that iclone will not support mac in near future (quite ironic given the product name ;)) and that it only runs with bootcamp and windows. Can you supply a link to where you saw this statement. Thanks

Thanks for this, I was just pondering options how to use it... I read in another posting that iclone will not support mac in near future (quite ironic given the product name ;)) and that it only runs with bootcamp and windows. Would be so great if it also could be used like Animator, is it due to technical issues with graphics and such that it is not possible or is there hope for mac users?

gadav11 (5/31/2011) I tried installing crazytalk pro animator v6.2 on my Imac running parallels windows XP and message popped up: cannot run on virtual machine. Any advice will be appreciated. Are you referring to CrazyTalk 6.2 Pro or CrazyTalk Animator? They are two different products. If you are using CrazyTalk Animator then please make sure you are using version 1.1 which allows CTA to work with virtual machine software like Parallels. If you have the latest version of CTA or are using CrazyTalk 6.2 Pro and still having problems then please contact Reallusion Support using the link below. They will help you diagnose the problem. http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx Thanks.
