Firstly if you were previously using the trial version of popVideo Converter then you will need to uninstall this version and then install your full purchased version.
When it comes to file types accepted by popVideo Converter these are described HERE. If you use formats like AVI or WMV then you should have no problems. Of course if you are using a codec for AVI like DivX or XVid then you shoud ensure these codecs are installed and working correctly first. You can also try uncompressed AVI which should work fine too.
It is often best to play around with different video formats and find the one that works best for your requirements regarding quality output size etc.
