Hi, I am a newbie to Crazytalk. I had the opportunity to use Crazytalk 6 recently and managed to create an animation out of it. It wasn't perfect but it was my first try :) From that experience I decided to buy Crazytalk Animation Pro so that I could do full body animations as well as facial. I also bought the Power Tools Vol. 1 as I wanted to be able to create custom characters.

I have 2 questions:

1. When I was trying to do lipsyncing in CTA I found that I was not able to fine tune the lipsyncing in the same way as when using CT6, ie., going into the timeline and being able to click on syllables and be able to exaggerate them. I was actually lipsyncing an accapella so needed to access the mouth shapes as you can in CT6. I could not find this option in CTA. Is it actually there or do I need to have CT6 to create more precise lipsyncing and then import that file into CTA?

2. Is there a workflow for using the Power Tool Characters (human and comic) to amend/customise them to create different clothing to create new characters. I know that you can change colours (comic characters) but I want to be able to make more changes than just colour to create original characters. Are there any templates that can be used in Photoshop/Flash/Illustrator so that you can create original content in the right sizes that can be used to replace uppers, lowers and sprites (depending on whether they are human or comic characters).

Sorry this is such a long post. I am just feeling a bit frustrated as I can not find any information on the internet with regards to CTA, as it seems it is a very new program. I bought this software with a lot of plans for usage, but I am stuck at the moment. I know there are a lot of tutorials on the Reallusion youtube site of which I have watched them all. Some things are skimmed over too quickly, I think ie., photo body fitting. I have not got that to work 100% yet :(

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Please take a look at the reply I gave below. This covered the same question and should help.

Vector based characters like those in the Power Tools are made up of 16 parts (see below) so you will need to replace each part with your own custom sprites in order to create a new character.

If you haven't seen it yet I would take a look at a new tutorial video we have available (link below). This shows some great tips in replacing the body parts of an existing character with those of an entirely new character. This should help you understand the principles involved. :)

Thank you very much for your help. It does seem as though there is not a lot of information on CTA as yet and feel that I have spent a long time looking for answers.

Thank you for answering those questions for me. The information was extremely helpful.

I have just one more question.

Is there a tutorial to show the process of creating a new character with a template and then cutting out the individual parts, that would then be used to replace sprites?

I think that now this is my missing link in the chain of creating my own characters.

What I have tried, is open one of the human characters from Power Tools, getting pictures of say a pullover, launched the sprite in Photoshop then overlayed the pullover fabric onto the sprite, saved it and replaced the sprite with the new fabric to get a new top for my character. However, if I wanted to create a dress for the female it doesn't seem to quite work the same way.

I have also tried creating Daz/Poser characters and then do Photo Body Fitting, but my results are never 100%. They always look very untidy. Is there a very detailed tutorial to show this process. The Reallusion tutorial on this subject does not go into great detail. Again, when trying to do skirts they never seem to work out.

Thanking you in advance and thanks for a great forum! :)
