The current version of iClone has support for panoramic 360 rendering or Stereo rendering. Both of these techniques are used to render 3D content for FLAT projection similar to how you might see a 3D movie in the movie theater. In these formats the video has a normal, either being a very wide video (for panoramic videos) or having a left and right eye image side by side or above and below.
However, video for full VR emersion typically uses a equirectangular or fisheye layout. These formats are more conducive to wrapping the image around the user as opposed to projecting on a flat surface.
It would be nice if iClone supported rendering to such formats so that iClone could be used directly to render VR content without having to use a middle man software to apply the
equirectangular or fisheye transformation.Enclosed is an example image that is in the Fisheye format. As can be seen the snowboard is not straight because the image has been transformed.
