This time I will share my experience in using Omniverse to commercialize cartoons, and discuss whether you should use Omniverse?

To give a brief introduction, Omniverse USD Composer (Create) is a free and powerful software.
Although it is not very mature yet so it has some bugs, the rendering is very good and is suitable for cartoon styles similar to Pixar.
The important thing is that it is faster than IRAY. But if your Project has SSS material, the speed will be slower (but still faster than IRAY).
If you have iClone, you don’t need to learn much to use OV. It is very convenient to export USD from iClone.
If you are not sure whether you should use Omniverse, I can provide you with two considerations:
one is your hardware equipment, and the other is the formality of your project.

Omniverse requires an RTX graphics card, which means at least a Nvidia RTX 2060 or 3060 graphics card. It is recommended that a 2080 or 3070 will be better in terms of speed.
I usually use Omniverse to render static images, or at most render videos within 30 seconds.
Since I only have an RTX3060 graphics card, it takes 30 seconds to render a static image (1920x1080). If there is SSS material, it takes 3 minutes to render an image.
If you are used to using other Final Render Engines, you don’t have to use Omniverse. Just continue to use the software you are used to.
They are not absolutely good or bad. Here is an introduction to people who only render in iClone.
Omniverse has three Render Modes, Realtime, Path Tracing (Interactive), Iray (Accurate)
The experience mentioned here is based on Path Tracing Mode.

I also compiled some tips about Omniverse Rendering in another article → https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost542343.aspx

While a cartoon style is usually not my thing, I think the renders look good.
You mentioned 30 seconds/3 minutes for a still frame in Omniverse using your RTX 3060, do you have render times for iRay? You said iRay was slower, I'm wondering just how much slower.

@Ranger J: Thank you for sharing your experiences. I think the stills look good and represent the particular cartoon style well.

@Nirwana
I tried it and Omniverse PathTracing took 30 seconds and Iray took 300 seconds
the difference was bigger than I thought

@Ranger J

Thanks for testing. Well, yeah, 30 vs. 300 seconds is significant.

I have only tried iRay very briefly in Daz (which I never really used) and never tried Omniverse at all, since I use C4D and Redshift for my final renders. Considering that, AFAIK, both iRay and Omniverse are Nvidia products, I was just curious with regard to their relative speed.

Since I don't have cartoon-style assets such as the ones you are offering, I have no idea what the render times on my systems would be for a look similar to that of the renders you have posted here.
