Hey there,

Apologies for the noob questions, but I feel like I'm lost, adrift in an ocean of confusion.

I have made a collection of characters in CC4 that I want to bring into Unity and animate. I am currently getting my animations from Mixamo, which seems to have different rigging to CC4 models, which is the root of my problem. I can import the characters, but they won't connect up with my animations. Does anyone know if it is possible to use Mixamo animations with CC4 characters? I have tried following other guides, like this one and this one, without success.

My options seem to be one of the following:
1. Convert CC4 models to be compatible with Mixamo rigging
2. Convert animations to be compatible with CC4 models
3. Abandon Mixamo and use another source for animations for CC4 models

Will any of these options work and if so, how are they achieved? Which is the best? And if I don't use Mixamo, where else can I source animations for free? Does iClone come with an animation library?

My main Unity build is on Mac OS, which the 'Auto Setup for Unity' doesn't work on. I do have access to a Windows machine (my laptop) where I have made the CC4 characters, and so if the Auto Setup tool is able to convert the models such that they can use Mixamo animations, then I could potentially convert my character models (via this Auto Setup tool) on my laptop and then bring them over to my Mac. Would this work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read!

Hi...

It's very easy to bring in animations from Mixamo and apply to Standard or Humanoid characters in CC4. It literally only takes a few seconds. You can then export the character and motions to Unity or any other software you wish. Just follow the tutorial below and you should be all set.
