I purchased version 2 of this plugin yesterday while the special offer of 50% off is running. Once installed I felt a little lost and the tutorial... well, kind of helps but doesn`t really give much info about the first part... the head.
Because it`s a new plugin update at the time of this video there are no tutorials to help, so I winged it as I normally do lol
From ZBrush I loaded a default head and exported as an OBJ, I then in Character Creator imported the head which came in tiny but was lined up face on and then I could continue. Now this test worked and I then tried on other free 3D Heads. This is the head that I used.
Once the head was in I then used the points to line up eyes, nose, mouth and without getting well in to this came to the last button which offers a full body model to attach to, after waiting it was done but the realistic skin was attached which I changed to normal to remove the watermark ( I ended up purchasing that too lol), and as you can see from a brief test it came out well.
I only attached the front part of the face from the options, very cool.
What I like about this is that if you changed the face to much before then you`d have to re-align the mouth (teeth) and so on which can be a pain because if they aren`t right then it will all look wrong in animation.
I have loads to learn about this Headshot 2 update, imho well worth it. :-)

Well, if that's the starting head you used and what you ended up with... I have to say I am NOT impressed. It's now making me rethink getting this plugin. Honestly, it doesn't even look close. I'm not saying the end result is a bad head, just that you could show the two heads to 1000 people and NONE of them would know it was the same one.

Because it`s a new plugin update at the time of this video there are no tutorials to help, so I winged it as I normally do lol The tutorial below should help you get better results and enable the ears to be part of the head. In fact a similar character head is shown at 3:28 in the tutorial so you can see how it's done. https://courses.reallusion.com/home/character-creator/pipelines-and-render/headshot?v=getting-started-with-headshot-2-0-|-headshot-2-0-plug-in-tutorial

Kelleytoons, I would try it out via the demo version before resting on your decision, bare in mind this was my blind test basically unsure of what I was doing to get the result. I only used the front part of the face and added realisc aged old woman skin so the final look wouldn`t be the same as the original head but a template.
Peter, thanks for the link I will check it out.

Yeah, after Pete replied to this thread I went back and looked at your message and did see that you said you only used the front part of the face which indeed would give very different results since the shape of the head wouldn't come across. I'll most likely just buy it - I'm a whore for RL products anyway - but I'm not actually sure I'll ever use it.

Well I`ve had another go while watching the video that Peter left and the results are better. Imho there should be a Symmetry option on the pointsFrom my point of view I will have much better results for my future creations, I`m also a whore for RL products.

Yeah, that's much more impressive. I don't know why there wouldn't be a symmetry option - there is on Accurig (it just makes sense - nearly ALL avatar meshes are symmetrical).

I know it`s weird unless it`s hidden from my lack of instruction reading :D
I`ve also done a colour version of the second head as a video, I winged it on the skin as the original head didn`t have one.
Here it is.
