I have a question about overall workflow if someone can answer it. I'm interested in a Blender workflow and in the ZBrush workflow, but the key for me is going to be if there is some crossover between the ZBrush workflow and the Blender workflow.

As I look over everything, I get the impression that a user is not able to create totally custom characters in the software, that the workflow is to use existing assets and modify them, then export to whatever supported target app like Blender. It seems like one can only base their creations on built-in or purchased models with some level of modification.

The ZBrush workflow seems to be only about posing, and although the model can be rigged and have animations applied to it, I'm left with the impression that still poses can be sent back to only ZBrush and the figures can not be animated and exported to other apps.  Hope I'm wrong.

If there is a a crossover workflow here, that I can import a model from ZBrush, rig it up, add textures to it and then export animation and models to Blender, I'd push the buy button in second, but I'm afraid that isn't the case, and that I pretty much can't use custom models in CC4, apart from sculpted morphs to the built-in models.

It would be a huge help if someone could please let me know the specifics of the limitations to the system so I can make an informed buying decision or at least point me to where I can find out the answers clearly.

Thanks for any help or advice.
