I have a question: Will these work with any CC3+ character? I don't have the toon characters and I'm not particularly interested in them.

Yes, it works on any CC3+ character, Animagic,.
You will need CC4 and the Ultimate morph bundle for all the morphs to work properly.

Here is a step-by step walk through the process:

1. Load and select the Aaron CC3+ Toon character in CC4
2. Open the Facial Profile Editor window.(found in the Animation tab or press F8)
3. Now open the facial editor by clicking the he ‘Edit expression’ button and go to the ‘custom’ tab, at the bottom of the window and click on it.
4. You’ll be able to see all 140 custom expressions here.
5. You can now save the Ultimate Expressions facial preset - by clicking on the save icon near the top of the window.
6. Save the file anywhere on you PC
7. Now load in your own CC3+ character. If you have a CC3 character, you will have to convert to a CC3+ character first.
8. Once loaded go back into the custom tab of the facial profile editor.
9. Make sure the character is loaded with the CC4 extended face profile (by clicking on it)
10. Now you can load the Ultimate Expression face profile onto you character by going to the load folder near the top and clicking on
the file you saved earlier.

And your character will have access to all the facial expression sliders. You may have to tweak some of the expressions to make them less exaggerated and more realistic. That can be done by not pulling the slider to the max.

May sound like a lot but once you have the Ultimate Expressions profile saved , you only have to follow the last three steps to apply it to any other character.

Video tutorial is coming.

Appreciate the interest in the products and happy to answer any other questions you may have.

I'm very interested in your expressions pack, but I'm not into toon characters.

When I tried to buy your expressions packt, there was this note:

The base content are not available in Marketplace. Please purchase from Content Store.
Cartoon character designer - Toon figures

When I click on the link, it refers me to the $129 piece of software which I don't own. Do I have to buy this to make Ultimate expressions work?

You definitely will have more customers if you make this with neutral characters and as easy to use as "Digital Soul"...
So if we buy the pack we can drag and drop directly from the pack and it works with every standard CC3+.
And, although I have that pack, surely not as a derivate of another pack...

I too am not interested in the Toon aspect of this but following the reply to Animagic I went a head and bought the pack.

I do not have the stated Reallusion Toon character pack but followed the instructions with the trial (watermarked version) of Aaron.
I was able to create the Ultimate Expressions facial preset in CC4 following the instructions and apply that profile to my own custom CC3+ characters without any watermark appearing. I enjoyed using the new ultimate expression sliders on my own characters in CC4.

What is less clear to me is the best practice for transferring and using my expression enhanced avatar back in Iclone 8.
Please could we have some clear instruction on how to add and use the expressions there?

regards
Geoff.

Thanks everyone for your comments.

Galifridus, thank you for the purchase :)
As Galfridus, pointed out you don't have to have the toon figure set to use the facial expressions. I tested it with the Kevin character, before publishing it and it worked perfectly.

Galfridus, you simply have to send your character to iClone from CC4, once you applied the Ultimate expressions.
The new expressions will be found under the FACE KEY tab inside iClone.

To access this tab
1. Open the Animation tab, then
2. The click on the "Face KEY" tab,
3. Inside the face key editor window select the "Modify" tab.
4. Inside the Modify window you will find all your face keys, including the custom ones,
5. Open the custom tab (near the bottom) and you should see the 140 Ultimate expressions sliders.

Unlike CC4,  iClone does not feature the reference images next to the slider but you can either do a search for the following categories -

* "positive" - for all the Positive Expressions
* "negative" - For all the Negative Expressions
* "mouth" - For the mouth only expressions
* "eyes" - For the eye expressions only
* "brow" - For editing the brows
" "eyelashes" - for editing and manipulating the eyelashes.
* "face" - to bring up the four face shape morphs
* "unconscious" - To bring up the expressions for breathing and other unconscious actions; or
* "set" - to bring up all the facial parts you can tweak to correct the expression, like the brows, lashes, lips, etc

Otherwise, I attached.
a) The entire list of expressions (with images) and a
b) A Comprehensive Reference sheet in the order they appear, make it easier :)

Happy animating :)

I also bought the pack as the promo 30% off + RL Prime made it 16,- $...
The process of saving the expressions, add as custom is easy.
After that I sent my character to iClone and the expressions are available in Face Key Modify Custom.
Unfortunately the "eye occlusion" does not follow the morphs...

Adding those custom expressions also make "eye occlusion" not work on "Digital Soul".
I hope the dev will work on this.
But this is a nice additional pack...

Glad. you're finding it helpful, ToyStory.

Sorry, about the "eye occlusion" issue. I do most of my animations with "toon-style" characters and render them inside Unreal, so I have not picked up on that problem.
Will do some investigation around that.
