Anyone ever run one of these?

Wondering what a couple of these are in here for....
qq.com
baidu.com
and where I know Google.com, why is it in the hub?  Why does Google need to connect to my hub on my system?  And the other two... one does not show anything on it and the other is some Asian site.  Why are they in there and what data is being transmitted?

I wonder if either myself or RL has a virus and this is causing some issues with updates and such.  I mean why are these in here????  My anti-virus software is not picking anything up on my end...

Doesn't surprise me in the least. As soon as I boot my PC up "Reallusion Host Service (32 Bit)" is automatically loaded, even if I'm not running any RL software.

Another thing to note is that this must be the most hacked Forum on the Internet, if you take a look at the "Activity" panel at the very bottom of the Homepage you'll see several hundred "Members" Online at any given time. The majority of these "Members" have names made up of random letter and/or numbers and spend their time viewing User profiles. I don't know of any other Forum that permits such activity, those that I use frequently require that potential members request permission to join any several Forums have only accepted members after a confirmation email has been replied to.

These should be for server control.
Probably reallusion's servers are in China.
Baidu also provides server services if I'm not mistaken.
My guess is that the other sites on the list are also providing server or network services.
These sites are not illegal sites.
If I'm not mistaken, qq is something like msn with millions of users in China.
Content is most likely being downloaded from these servers
I think they are also used for program updates and license checks.
With the remote network connection check, the computer is not infected with a virus.
There's no way it's a virus.
These exe files are signed and certified.
Otherwise, even the simplest program would give a virus warning.
A firm like RL would not jeopardize its business future for this.
Programs with a HUB system usually have a program running in the background.
Unreal engine has programs running in the background like this.
These are just fine. Adobe is running 5-10 programs in the background :)
The biggest problem of forum sites is bots and spammers.
Peter might be spending some serious time on these.
When you become a member of the RL site, you can automatically participate in the forum site. Therefore, it may not be very difficult for spammers to become a member of the forum.
As far as I know, the forum system is already quite old.

Mine loads automatically as well.  You can change that in the windoz start up settings.  I do not mind that starting as it checks for new versions.  However I do question the need to send this data to china from my PC.  If they run things through their server that is one thing... but from my (or anyone's home or business computers) seems to be unnecessary.  Aren't Reallusions main offices in So. Cal? There should not be any reason that my computer should need to connect to any foreign url from a US based company.

Collecting user statistics and sending data requires direct user consent.
So I don't think any data is sent.
I think these links are only used for license checking and downloading content.

Reallusion is located in Taipei, Taiwan. Just across the water from China.

That is news to me, but it's verified here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reallusion  I also thought they were in California, not far from me in fact. Looks like they have multiple offices, including one in Taipei.

RL has always been a Taiwanese company. Research and development are in Taipei. One sales office is in the US and there are further offices in other Asian countries. Kai, from the webinars, is in Canada. It doesn't bother me at all...

If not to collect and send data back, why are they here?   Windows is geared to push marketing on to their users.  Hell, you have to manually block ads that windows allows to pop up on you.  Even if you turn that off, some software get around that and STILL pop their sales pitch to you... Vegas Video is one.  I have all that turned off and still get their ads.

Anything other that reallusion should be removed.  Everything should be filtered through reallusion.com.... let the server direct the information and not my computer. 

@animagic "It doesn't bother me at all..."  It really should. I hear my younger coworkers say that to me all the time while they are on tictok.... "i'm not doing anything, let them have my information"!  Information is power.  If they are collecting data then there is a reason for it.  And trust me when I say the reason is to benefit them, NOT you, me or anyone else here.  But what data is being sent? 

Short of uninstalling all this software... we are trapped with this.  This is not my area of programming... otherwise I would write a tracker and see what is being sent and where.  If nothing else, curiosity.

Going to try to block just those URL's in my firwall and see if that messes up my Reallusion software of if it still works.
