Nobody told you to abandon Adobe. I just think subscription plans don't have a future honestly, regardless of the quality of the product. Learning curve of opensource softwares like Blender for example is as much high as Maya could be, just to name a famous professional 3d modelling software. Please accept points of view that differ from yours. And let's stop keeping this topic off-topic.

Still, if that's the case I would be right in saying it's elitary because of the money it costs, and that in my opinion is stupid. The more you grant artists to be able to express themselves and improve their skills with affordable professional software the more pieces of art there will be in the future. ART MUST BE SHARED. Period. More and more companies are supporting open source softwares for professional work, and that's a fact. So it's a bit of a shame and disappointing to see Reallusion keeps making tutorials where it seems mandatory to have the Adobe Cloud subscription to work in a pipeline. I don't see a future for Adobe's products honestly.Expensive - Not really man. In India, it costs about 4K INR per month for the whole Adobe Suite. If a person is earning 50K to 100K INR per month, s/he can easily afford it, because of other designing job needs as well. If a person is not earning that much or less, then another pipeline is recommended. Adobe is never going to die. Because every design institute teaches Adobe products. It is used by millions of designers around the world. Those who use it will never downgrade their skill to go to other products, like me, who is using it for the last 20 years. I have bought CTA5 because it is an upgrade from Animate and not a downgrade. Open-source software is fine but they all have a high learning curve. No professional designer will spend more time learning new software unless they are short of cash and have no choice. Yes, hobbyists should go for other software, professionals will always stick to Adobe or better products. CTA5 should just get more tutorials for all the 3rd party products they support.

Not really. If you are a designer, you must have been using Adobe suite or other design software. They are basic entry-level software for any design need. So unless you are not in a full-time design job then maybe it is a waste of money. But if you are serious about getting a good animation movie done, you will need animate to draw, illustrator to rig, CTA5 to animate, after effects for any particle or special effects, and then premiere or DaVinci resolve for final compositing and editing. That is the pipeline for creating high-end 2D animation episodes or movies. Just exporting from CTA5 is not enough.

Normally we use the SVG editors like Illustrator to completely rig the character there with bone circles and bring them inside CTA fully rigged. Saves a lot of time and with the rig templates, we can even apply 3D mocaps to these. If you Free rig inside CTA 5, sometimes the mocaps don't work. That is what I am talking about doing things fast - not just creating the vector in Illustrator or Animate but also rigging them and importing them inside CTA5 fully rigged. Just add springs and you are ready to animate.

Who talked about rigging issues here? :) I could do everything within Blender if that's the case, which is also free and more and more used by professional studios. Adobe Suite is a general requirement by default if you are joining any design studio. So every design institute teaches these first. Yes, Hobbyists, those who wish to start from CTA are probably not going to use Adobe suite simply because of the subscription model. See if you can get old versions of the Adobe suite online, they still work great. Remember rigging is just one of the processes, the main work is animation, so get rigging done fast, instead of figuring out which software works and which doesn't, and focus on creating the animations itself.

They might be smart and very professional, but unfortunately aren't very affordable for amateur artists or newborn freelancers in my opinion. So i hope they will improve CTA5 SVG softwares' compatibility range.

Today I have figured out a way to import svg files from Adobe Animate>Adobe Illustrator to>CTA5. Took a few hours but it is worth it. I am still sticking with Adobe products as they are a breeze to work with.
