Today I updated CC4 to 4.12 and now Skin Gen won't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the content, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling CC4, I've tried syncing, updating, checking for the file location, doing file syncing but nothing is working.

Unfortunately, there does appear a rather serious issue with textures being reported missing since the 4.12 update.
We do apologise for the inconvenience this causes and will do everything to get a fix out as soon as possible.

I usually give a couple of days before any upgrade. Don't know why I did upgrade today CC projects are now stalled for the weekend...

Thank you all for responding. I kept messing around with the Skin & Makeup pack and hopefully I didn't mess anything up. Unlikely but if so I'll just reinstall everything again later. I didn't plan on updating but whatever I did, the update ran on its own. I can wait for a patch though. I just wanted to know that it wasn't just me and it's getting fixed. Thank you again!

Hi everyone, is there a way to switch back to version 4.11? From the launcher I couldn't find any option for that...

Yeah..all the textures are still there in the original install . The pointer to the textures is incorrect.
If you go to the original install folder when the can't find texture dialog comes up you can just point it to the top Reallusion directory and it will search the sub folders also and find all the textures at once. If you installed default...I think it's the Reallusion folder in Program files on C: drive.
I'm not at home to check. I don't think it the Users path in this instance.

Any news on the texture fix path fix? It crashes on trying to download new content at the moment as well.

I have the same issues. First the failed textures (still an issue) and now crashes when downloading new content. It's getting worse now. I just bought the software yesterday. Not a great start. Is there any news?

Thank you for all your patience while we looked into this issue. We have now released a hotfix for the issue which should help until the next update is ready.
Please download the hotfix using the link below.
How to Install =========== . Make sure you have installed the latest official versions of iClone and Character Creator. . Make sure the programs are closed. . Unzip the hotfix files. . Run the hotfix.bat . For iClone: double click the "IC8ReplaceSG.bat" . For Character Creator: double click the "CC4ReplaceSG.bat" . Problem should be resolved.
Resolved Issue =========== . Some shared textures cannot be found when loading a character when CC3 or IC7 is not installed. . After opening the iClone7 and then opening iClone8, the Content Manager failed to initialize.
