I have a numbers of 4K characters from Reallusion, Scan Labs and others. They all seem to have 4K images for the bodies, arms and legs. However, for the face texture that have 2K (2048x2048) images textures. Does anyone know why this is? I understand that an arm or leg covers alot more surface area than the face (the surface area of the legs are roughly 50% of the entire body surface area). However, the FACE is what we see first. The face is how we recognize others. Why does the face only get a 2K image on an otherwise 4K set of images?

I'm genuinely curious.  I thought my renders looked a bit cartoony because of the 2K textures for the face. Though I'm now getting better results with more sophisticated lighting setups and some composite work after each frame. Still, a 4K model should use 4K texture universally, shouldn't they?
