When? Doubtful there will EVER be a new toon shader.

I'm pretty sure I remember Peter mentioning that there currently aren't any plans to update the toon shader.

Reallusion indicated in a pre-release video that a pixar quality toon shader was part of the new versions, thanks for clarifying it wasn't. Kelleytoons, good to see you're still rendering.. you always seem to be well informed about all things Reallusion, could I ask your opinion on a post I made earlier about the best way to economically upgrade?

I'm not really interested in the Elite program - I already have as much content as I will ever need in my lifetime in terms of avatars, props and sets. And with a mocap suit and facial capture system I have no need of any motions. Folks without those things could benefit, I suppose, but I've never even looked into it. However, you can get an absolute answer to your question by going to your account and put in a trouble ticket (which can be used for a wide variety of things, including pre-sale questions). It's the best way to get that information - Peter does his best here but even he's not going to know it all or be able to answer it all and with a trouble ticket there WILL be an answer of some sorts.

Reallusion indicated in a pre-release video that a pixar quality toon shader was part of the new versions, What is a “Pixar Quality toon shader” anyway? “Toonshaders” are typically to emulate 2D or cell shaded cartoon looks AFAIK ,Pixar has never released a 2D cell shaded film but only vibrantly colored 3D animation with highly stylized Characters.
